Why limit the discussion?I wasn't trying to "limit the discussion." I couldn't understand what the user's comment had to do with the thread, and believe that he was confused about what was being discussed (i.e. discussion about pdf's, etc.).
Requesting user feedback: Send to Kindle feature
Development is considering implementing a 'Send to Kindle' feature for resources in your Logos library.
Before investing a significant amount of time on this item, we would like to assess user interest based on the fact that this feature would not support sending notes/highlights to or receiving notes/highlights from Kindle devices/apps (which is mentioned in the UserVoice request for this item).
Please let us know if you would still be interested in seeing this feature.

Thanks for the details - I thought as much, but after seeing Graham's comment, I thought I had missed something in the thread.
I actually read most of my Kindle books on my Nook HD+. I have not yet invested in a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 - so the Nook is my large screen tablet (for now). I do own an earlier version 7" Kindle Fire, but find myself using it less and less. I don't see enough of an advantage in the newest Kindle to move up to it from the Nook. I'm waiting see what the next Nook (if it comes) or Kindle has to offer.

I just got a Kindle Paperwhite [H]
I have already read 3 books on it in two days time.
I like it. My Nook SimpleTouch is good, but lacks the backlight and the huge selection of books on Amazon.
I have not been on these forums for quite a while, but remembered way back when that this thread was here. So i thought I should check up on the progress. Apparently there is none? Disappointing, but not a big deal. I didnt buy the Kindle with Logos in mind, I just thought it would be a nice added bonus.
I just got a Kindle Paperwhite
Now that I own both a Nook Simple touch and a Kindle Paperwhite, I am more aware of the differences between the two of them.
First of all, the Kindle is designed primarily to read Amazons proprietary format. This works well and Amazon has a huge selection of titles.
The Nook reads titles in ePUB format. My local public library has titles you can checkout, but Kindle Paperwhite is not supported on every book.
Both readers can view PDF files. But ... the Kindle PDF reader is horrible. Bad enough to be unusable. The Nook does a great job of displaying PDF files on the e-ink screen.
My solution is to keep both readers because I value the flexibility. But I know most people don't want to buy two readers. The kindles that can run android apps from the amazon store can download an ePub reader. I don't know if a decent PDF reader is available on those or not. But the Backlit e-ink display is what makes these readers so great.
As with most technology, there is always a compromise. I would not have expected a lousy PDF reader in the Kindle though, that's a surprise.
If Logos comes up with an export to kindle feature, that would be awesome. How soon is this going to happen?

That is the result of the high contrast of the Paperwhite. You don't have this problem on the traditional e-ink Kindle or the Kindle Fire. I own both of these, not a Paperwhite.

Actually there are several problems. The layout and font sizes are not adapted to the screen as they are on the Nook. Possibly earlier kindles had better software. A digital zoom feature is available, but causes the reader to crash with "out of memory" errors. Searching for solutions, I found it was a common problem.
I am glad to hear that older e-ink kindles did not have these problems. Maybe this will be fixed in a future update. I sure hope so. Whenever I find articles I want to read on the internet, I print them to PDF files and send them to the Nook.
I love the Paperwhite display. Hope they fix this soon.
Actually it does limit the discussion to eInk, because if you have a tablet like Kindle fire, or any other tablet, you can download Vyrso and read the Logos books from there. Logos has allready provided for people like you. The question here is if Logos books should be available for Kindle with eInk, the kindles that were available even before Kindle Fire was on the market.
I read eBooks on my tablet, but we would like to see it made available for eInk readers from Kindle. Now we have to copy and paste parts of the book untill we have the whole book, and transfer it to word. There we have to make a table of contents, and then we can transfer it to Kindle. At least we now have the opportunity to use 'Send to Kindle' so that we have the possibility to put in the writers name, where as we only had the possibility in the past to sent it to Kindle under our own name.

Sorry for the multiple posts.
To answer your question , I prefer the Kindle (or Nook) reader to the loaded and cumbersome Vyrso reader.

I wasn't aware that there is a Vyrso reader. I thought it was available for other platforms.

There is more than one way to build post count. Don't know how I did it though.

I think that the Logos servers were slow today. There must have been something going on in the background.

I WOULD DO ALMOST ANYTHING TO GET THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
While any version of this whatsoever would be absolutely delightful, here are a few requests/ideas, in order of priority.
1. Footnotes -- absolutely essential for academic books
2. Table of Contents -- this would be relatively simple given how tagged Logos already is, but would make a huge difference
3. Real Page Numbers -- since the kindle supports this feature, it would be very very nice.
4. Be absolutely certain that the text is fully justified (or have it as an option)
Further Thoughts:
1. This would give you a massive advantage over all your competitors -- it would also get people to pay a premium to buy books from logos, since they would have it on their computers as well as on their kindles. With the computer for searching/studying and the kindle for reading, there would be little point in buying it in any other format
2. This would make all the difference in the world to me. Right now it is a very frustrating process to convert books for the kindle. If you could make this easy I would love logos forever

Not quite the same, but see this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/81953.aspx

This feature would push me over the edge in my decision to order a Logos package.
Welcome to the forums Evan. It is coming but is just a matter of time. We must be patient.
Hey Bruce, did I miss where they told us they were actually working on this?

Sorry for not responding sooner. I have not been able to connect for the past 10 days. I don't think that it is "guaranteed" that this will happen but through conversations for others I am optimistic.

What additional value would this feather provide?
It would allow people who have a Kindle eReader (not the Fire) to access Logos books.
So - for example - while I can currently read Logos books on my iPad and my Android phone (using the Logos apps) I can't read them (without doing some work) on my Kindle Paperwhite - and it would be great if I could.

A LOT of work depending on the resource.....

I would never use a Kindle Fire. I love using my regular kindle device.

Hey Peter,
I think the answer here is an eink that smoothly runs a higher version of android. That way we can just install Logos or Vyrso and be done with it. There are some threads about this here and it sounds like these types of devices are coming down the pike.
Hi from Greenpoint to your family.
Mike
Hey Bro. Mike,
Didn't expect to see you here! I do agree with you that that would be the ideal solution -- Ive also posted on the forums of some of the devices that are "in the pike" to see if they would make sure they support running logos. Unfortunately, I've seen more than one such device fall by the wayside before reaching production in the past several years. So I keep hoping for one or the other. Praying for you all in Greenpoint.
