How do I download bibles so available off line on iPad
I'm new to logos and would like to use the bible while at church. Our church doesn't have wifi available for congregation. How do I add versions and other books to my library to use offline?

Hi Cheryl - and welcome to the forums
How do I add versions and other books to my library to use offline?
There are a number of ways you can do this:
1) When you have a resource open in the app, tap the screen and select the "i" button at the top right of the popup menu which appears. Press the "download" button and it will download
2) In the library panel, use a string to select a set of resources - "type:bible" is an example - and then press the "download all" button on the top right. If you have a large library this will probably be more than you want (it's recommended to only download what you need offline as if you need to reinstall the app later for any reason you will need to download resources again)
3) If you are running Logos 5 on your desktop you can manage which resources are downloaded to your iPad from the Library window. If you need more information on this please let us know
Please note that you can only download "paid for" resources. Logos provides access to some resources for free with the app but, in general, due to licensing restrictions these can't be downloaded for offline use.
Hope this helps
If any of it doesn't make sense or doesn't work please post back

I stuck a 3G sim card in my iPad today just to test the Bible app and it seems to work fine if a little slowly.

Graham,
Just for clarity ....
I am using the "download to xxxxx phone" on my desktop Logos 5 program.
I have the iPhone hooked up to my computer with a USB lead.
Will the resources download through the USB lead, through the WiFi or through the phone data allowance?
Thank you

with nearly ALL data on iOS devices, data is acquired via an internet connection. This is true for the Logos apps as well. You cannot download anything from L5 to your device directly. When you manage your mobile library via L5, you are telling Logos to download those resources via the cloud (internet) when your app is next connected.
The question about how the app accesses the internet (wifi or cellular) is determined by your current settings and availability of internet sources. This isn't a Logos setting...
FYI - iOS devices are normally set up to utilize wifi first. If you are worried about cellular data, you can turn your cellular data off and utilize wifi only. As long as you are seeing an active wifi connection, this should be unnecessary however.
