Firstly, I primarily preach, write essays and do everything else from my ipad, so the ipad version is more a focus than the lap top software.

having played around a fair bit with the app, is there any way to use the second window as an assistant for the first? What I mean is that they seem to operate as two seperate windows, I would prefer that the lower window served the above, so when I pull up the passage guide for the top window it appeared in the bottom one, that way my bible text is not obscured.

alsothe purchased resources, ie theology books, do they come with page numbers? I would need page numbers for essays.

thanks.

Peace to you, William!                          .....     and!  .....     Welcome to the Logos Community Forums where (mostly!) volunteers from the four corners of the world attempt to help and inform one another in the usage of Logos Bible Software!

You raise a number of interesting points, William, and I think you will probably receive a number of responses...

First, I have a question ...              Logos has 5 different apps for the iPad ........        Bible, Vyrso, FaithLife, Verbum, and Noet ...         Are you referring to any one of these?               Actually, I think that the FaithLife app with its two windows might be the one you are referring to ???

Page numbers are a different matter, and others will speak about that ...           *smile*

Have you purchased a Logos package?

Philippians 4:  4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand..........

  • Sorry, I meant the main logos bible ipad app.

    Hi William

is there any way to use the second window as an assistant for the first? What I mean is that they seem to operate as two seperate windows, I would prefer that the lower window served the above, so when I pull up the passage guide for the top window it appeared in the bottom one, that way my bible text is not obscured.

There are a number of things you can do - but I don't think you can fully do what you are looking for:

You can set one panel to "link" with the other (tap and hold on the semi-circle separating the panels) and if - for example - you have a Bible in one panel and a commentary in the other - one will track the other.

If you ensure that the panel you want to use as an assistant is "selected" (which you do by tapping on it) then selecting the Passage Guide will cause it to be opened in that panel leaving the other one untouched. But then - for example - selecting a commentary from the PG will cause the commentary to open in the other panel which will obscure your Bible text.

alsothe purchased resources, ie theology books, do they come with page numbers? I would need page numbers for essays.

It depends - the majority do but some - particularly older ones - don't

    Hope this helps
