I am going to try and run Logos 5.x on this Windows Gem (I hope).
Have a peek...its on sale again tonight.

No I am not a salesman....but a good deal if you can afford I think.
That is certainly a bargain for a Windows 8 Tablet. The i5 processor should be plenty to run Logos.
I might have a little concern about 4 G of ram. But no doubt it will run.
Battery life is a bit shorter than the Surface Pro 2, but that would not be a big issue for me. You still have the portability, and battery life is better than most laptops.
You couldn't go wrong at that price.
I look forward to hearing about your experience with your new tablet. Hope it is a blessing to you.

Running Logos 5 on a i5, and 5500 rpm and satisfied.
Since the Surface has a Ssd, it should be pretty fast.
My desktop has 4GB of Ram (DDr3) Dual Core processor and a Ssd. My layouts usually have 25 or more tabs. Logos runs well.

Thanks for that information Lynden. That is very helpful to know, and certainly makes the original Surface Pro now on sale for less than $500 very attractive indeed for Logos users. I know from using the Surface Pro 2 that using Logos on a Surface Pro is a very enjoyable experience. Many people have looked for a tablet under $500 that would run Logos, and this surely sounds like one to me - especially based on your report of running Logos on 4 GB of ram. That was my only concern. This could be the answer for a lot of people.
I am interested in everyone's experience using Logos 5 on a tablet, and hope to learn something helpful from everyone.
Original Surface runs warm - a lot.
Fan runs often. Its also heavy to hold for a long time (never was much into weight lifting).
Learning 8.1 is not so simple but I am getting there.
I did all the updates and tried to fiddle with the power control....still the battery runs down quickly while its not plugged in.
Sigh.
Josh,
Go to Control Panel and click on Power Options. Then do the following:
I would also turn down the display brightness to about 50% when you are on battery. This will help with battery life and also help cool down the Surface Pro.

No keyboard
Thanks Bill.
Some practical suggestions from Bill. Thanks.
If not using wireless, then can disable wireless devices (WiFi, Bluetooth) for longer battery life.
Personally use Logos 5 offline on a tablet with Atom CPU that is underpowered. Hence, not running anti-virus software on the tablet along with not connecting it to any network.
Keep Smiling [:)]
