BUG: 4.0.14 Setting preferred Bible doesn't stick
I have this problem on both my tablet and my Android phone. I keep trying to set my preferred Bible to TNIV, but as soon as I exit the Settings panel, it resets back to NIV84. It does not seem to want to stick. Very annoying.

Hi Rosie
i just tried this and see the same thing.
There was a similar issue sometime ago - http://community.logos.com/forums/t/56718.aspx - which was due to faulty server-side code, I wonder if something similar is happening here.
I set the preference on my iPad and it synced through and changed my Android app and this then seemed to stick. I'm not at my desktop at the moment so can't try there.
But try setting it on a different platform and see if it filters through.

I'm on an extended trip and I don't have my laptop with me. Anyway, I could have sworn my preferred Bible was set toTNIV at home. It's been that way most of the time, except when I've experimented with it for a while to figure out something on behalf of another user. But I'm quite sure I'd set it back again.
This is something which needs to be fixed. People shouldn't *have* to change this setting from the desktop app. Some people might not even have the desktop app. And if a feature exists in the mobile app, it should work.

Hi Rosie
Agree it needs to get fixed.
I just tried to set it from Biblia. This seemed to work and reset the preference on Android to what I had selected on biblia, but while I was watching the settings screen the entry for preferred Bible changed to blank after about five seconds!
Very strange, Graham

I think the issue here is that it needs a little extra time to sync. If you set the preferred Bible, leave the Settings panel, then go back right away, it will show the old one. This definitely isn't great behavior though and all of the code for setting a preferred Bible could/should be improved. I'll write up a case and I might be able to get to it when I finish my current project.

That's certainly our goal (ideally it'd be much less than a week!) Things have been a little crazy here recently though, so I apologize that we've fallen behind.

I just finished rewriting most of the code relating to how we manage preferred Bibles in the Android app, including the picker to make it faster, more reliable, and add a couple new features. My changes let me mark all of our open preferred-Bible-related cases as "resolved". [:)] They'll be in the next beta.

Do you allow us to have different preferred Bibles on mobile than we have on desktop? That capability is desperately needed, IMO.
Thanks for your efforts!

Unfortunately, no, this option is not available.
