Page turning in iOS
Just wanted to leave a quick comment about Logos for iOS and provide some (hopefully) useful feedback for future iterations.
I've switched to Logos as my bible reading and study app on my tablet and phone, and in general I'm quite pleased with it. It's got a lot commendable about it, and in particular I'm glad that it has made efforts to stay up-to-date with the new iOS look.
That being said, I have a major issue with it that make it fall a bit short of being delightful to use, and it's a really simple point: page turns. The page turns are artificial and mechanical, nothing like the fluid, natural swipes that iOS users are accustomed to, anywhere else throughout the system. For comparison try swiping through the pages of a PDF in iBooks, or flicking through photos in the Photos app. There is a world of difference, and it really does affect my experience of the software. As far as I'm aware, it isn't difficult at all to use Apple's native animations on your own app, and I'm curious and a little disappointed that they haven't been used.
On the whole, though, this is a really good app. I use it everyday, and there is great value in it. But the one thing wrong with Logos is a thing so central to the experience that it does diminish the satisfaction of interacting with it. I would be thrilled if the page turning issue was addressed!

I have to agree - I find there is a noticeable delay between the gesture and the page animation. I would like to be able to flick forwards and backwards quickly and I would prefer an animation which gave some sense of where in the book/chapter I am. ie. a sense of thickness. How much of this chapter is left? 2 or 20 pages etc. All these things I am aware of with a real book. Some software makes this more clear than others. I notice that sente does it with page thumbnails at the bottom which is helpful. Kindle does it with loc x of y and % progress which is very nice.

Thanks for the suggestion. John is right, UserVoice is the best place to make this heard.
Just to give a little insight on why things are the way they are...a Logos resource, with all its tagging and extra behind-the-scenes information about the text, is a lot more data-heavy than a PDF in iBooks (yes, photos are also data-heavy, but I would assume Photos is able to increase performance by decreasing the clarity/quality of the image...we can't do that with text). There's a lot of data to parse in order to render the text on the screen in the appropriate way, and that's slowed down even more if we have to go retrieve the data from the internet.
I'm not saying we can't make improvements, just explaining why the page turning isn't instantaneous right now. [:)]

What device are you using? On my iPhone 5, I find almost no delay.

My devices are ipad3, google nexus 4 & 7.
its not just speed but also the sense of connection between touch and animation. Am I moving the page or triggering an animation?

I would like the option to scroll up/down instead of turning pages as well.
