What is supposed to be fixed here?'
I still get the black-bar-of-annoyance in Win7 64bit with 2 monitors.
On minimize then maximize the black bar disappears, but then L4 does not allow the auto-hide task bar to pop up when L4 is the active window of the primary monitor.
EDIT: After minimize/maximize and no black bar, I also get artifacts (black areas) on the screen.See example here under some of the shortcuts:
(My video drivers were updated last week.)

We're trying to reproduce it here (I've seen it once, but not consistently; it may be a video driver problem?).

Black bar w/Win 7 64bit and 2 monitors. . .
Since I am only occassionally using 2 monitors, I can confirm that I get the "intermittent" black bar ONLY while both monitors are attached. Certainly it's curious.
I am using an nVidia GPU (9200M GS) w/256 dedicated. with all the latest upgrades on a Core 2 Duo 2.0G with 4GB DDR2 Ram.
Thanks for the latest updates and fixes. L4 just keeps getting better.

Any idea when the verticle scrolling will be fixed on laptop Synaptics Pointing Devices? It has been disabled since the pre-release of L4. It is very awkward to have to find a place on the scrollbar that isn't taken up by the "hits" markers.

If you're asking about auto-scrolling from a laptop mouse-pad, this is an issue with WPF that is out of the hands of Logos. MS supposedly has plans to address this part way through 2010 (if I remember correctly).
There was another thread that discussed this, but I'm not sure where that is right now. If you're interested, I'll try to find it for you.

If this is a known issue, my HP Pavilion does not know about it. I can scroll through my touchpad in open resources both with the edge scroll function or by clicking both left and right buttons to get the center click scroll feature.
Both scroll functions from the touchpad work fine...

One thing that those of us who have it are finding is that it is consistently users with two monitors attached to the computer. I will start a new thread again to help find out what are the common denominators.

And Win7 64bit.
After disconnecting from a second monitor (neither Logos was never on the second monitor) the problem was resolved. Using Windows7 home premium 64bit edition. Using Intel Graphics Media Accelerator for mobile.

I read the 4.0a notes and see nothing about some of the missing features that are supposedly very close to being fixed. Especially issues like printing of notes and importation of notes from version 3. Are these on the list for 4.0a?

It looks like 4.0a is about finished, I wquld expect it finished by year end, it is really stable for me right now. I think it will be the next beta for the importing of notes and so forth. Bob has indicated that it will be SOON, and it is in internal testing right now and as soon as it is stable enough it will be put out in a beta test. About 4.0a Bob said:
"It's close, but we're being careful. 4.0a has index merging, among other improvements. That's something cool, but which messes with your index files. And we very much do not want to release a 4.0a that causes everyone to have index problems... I don't know that you'd let us live! So we're taking the time to test it as thoroughly as possible"

for the life of me I can't figure out how to find the beta download section. Is it hidden on purpose? Where is it? I am going to wade into the murky waters and wish I didnt . . . or maybe be glad!

PS, will this be a shorter download--ie, not the 10 GB behemoth . . . ?
No, it will not be 10GB, since it won't be downloading all your resources.
It just installs the program, and a few updated resources (I think). I haven't seen a download even as big as 10MB for the beta (YMMV).

I guess so no one downloads it without really wanting to? I.E.: understanding first what a beta is and how one should treat it. If you go back through the Beta forum you can find the original instructions with the link. More work than needed, perhaps, but it can be found.

probably can . . . but i didn't find it. I did actually go through the pages of the forum and i also tried to search. Just wasn't smart enough, i guess. Yeah, and so I think I am smart enough to run beta . . .

Dan, welcome to this beta stream.
Some have noticed that scrolling (with the mouse) has been improved. Page UP-Page Down also seems a bit more responsive, as does using the Space Bar to Page Down.
I am also pleased that the Collections/Cited by (sections that use parts of Passage/Exegetical Guide now immediately automatically "name" any custom collection. (This saves from having to constantly look for and click on the "setting" button).
Hope it installs and runs well for you.
You asked about mega-downloads: If you did not do the recent 1.8(?) gig download on SR-7 you will need to do it for the Beta 5 release.
