Brueggemann on Dt in Abingdon Commentary is on a sale

Sale price $21.44, but I don't know how long the sale continues:
Abingdon Old Testament Commentary - Deuteronomy
I think I'll buy it both with my own account which is the main account (I also have Accordance), and with the extra account I've created for (a) friend(s) (and my mom will use that account when she retires except she won't make it through Brueggemann).
In the beginning of the weekend I noticed this set available for Logos and on a sale.
Don't get too excited, many volumes in this series seem to be close to 20 years old.
I bought the Eph and 1-2 Thess volumes on Sunday.
Unsufficient Store Credit left and the email of the extra-account malfunctions so can't send email to Sales (at least not with that extra-account) today to be sure to get the sale price. If we miss out on this I hope others will get to enjoy this resource! Sorry about the short notice, at first I was unsure which volumes to recommend (besides Eph which I posted about a few days ago).

Are my eyes deceiving me, or did Unix just post the fact that A COMMENTARY is listed in Vyrso rather than Logos??

Some are - https://vyrso.com/products/search?Genre=Commentaries&start=30
What I find particularly strange is some of the NAC volumes are available in both Logos and Vyrso - I'll flag this separately.

Well, hush my mouth! I didn't know that commentaries were sold at VYRSO.
And how about this? The New American Commentary on Joshua sells for $19.95 on Logos, but it sells for $14.99 on Vyrso. (Similar pricing differences on some other commentaries as well.) I suppose more tagging on the Logos version? Or are these two resources identical? Obviously, the text of the book would be identical, but what about tagging.
Inquiring minds would like to know.

There's another Brueggemann book on sale - A Theological Introduction to the Old Testament: 2nd Edition - for less than $25, which is nearly half price.

I raised the NAC question at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/82191.aspx but no response from Logos as yet

This book is OUTSTANDING. Has really helped me put together a more unified theological understanding of the O.T.Gordon Jones said:There's another Brueggemann book on sale - A Theological Introduction to the Old Testament: 2nd Edition - for less than $25, which is nearly half price.

Abingdon Old Testament Commentary - DeuteronomyI personally don't think this is on sale. Sale items normally have there price displayed in red text on Vyrso site. This item's price is not in a red font. What I believe you are seeing is the trade list price or RRP vs the regular Vyrso price. All Vyrso books are displayed in this manner. It's designed to make you good about making the purchase to make you feel you are getting a discount. And you are against the list price but not again the price Logos is normally prepared to offer the resource.
For those that are happy to use this resource as a monograph rather than commentary it is worth considering.

https://vyrso.com/product/39068/a-theological-introduction-to-the-old-testament-2nd-editionI would be much more inclined to buy these Vyrso resources if I knew I wouldn't have to turn around and rebuy them in full once Logos decides to offer them in Logos proper. I like Brueggemann, but I probably won't get these because I would rather have fully searchable Logos versions. If I knew that I wouldn't be stuck in a rebuy situation, I might buy now.

I have always thought that if a book goes from Vyrso to Logos then you get that upgrade free? Maybe I am wrong, but I thought this happened in the past to others.

If so, I'd like to know so I can feel free to purchase a Vyrso item should I want...like right now, for instance.

Here is a reply from this thread:
RayDeck3 said:We have a standing promise to Vyrso customers that, if we convert any Vyrso title to a Logos resource, they will get the new, more extensively tagged edition for free.
To that end, we just completed a huge list of unlocks—resources that had been converted from Vyrso to Logos.
But I have a sneaking suspicion that a book or two may have fallen between the cracks. If you notice that you own a Vyrso book that is now available in Logos, and we neglected to unlock it for you, email customerservice[at]logos[dot]com, and we'll get it taken care of.

There was also a promise from Bob in this thread:
Bob Pritchett said:Vyrso and Logos books are the same file format, and same technology. What's different is how they are created, the tagging and markup process, etc.
If/when we do a Logos edition of a Vyrso book, it would be delivered as an update of the book file -- the update would be automatic and free, just as updates to books are now when we fix typos, improve tagging, etc.
Conceivably we might license a "3rd edition" of a book and do it as a Logos edition, when the "2nd edition" had been a Vyrso title, and the publisher/Logos might choose to have this significantly different resource sold separately. (Like the NIV84/NIV2011, or the BAGD/BDAG lexicon.) But I think that's a rare scenario that reflects "essentially a new book."
If it's an update / change from eBook -> Logos Edition, there shouldn't be a charge, and the update should be invisible and automatic. And the resulting updated resource will continue to work in both Vyrso and Logos 4.

No problem. I knew there had been discussions, I just had to find them.
