Entering licence number for Libronix DLS 3.0g

when i try to enter the serial number in to Libronix DLS the next button stays greyed out and cannot be used (well it actually appears white, while the others are grey, but you know what i mean).

I entered the 20 character alphanumeric stuck on the back of the CD case, tried upper and lower case.

Using Win 8.1, 64 bit x86 architecture.

I have no idea, all help appreciated!

My guess is the culprit is W8 (which is periodically not friendly to Libronix, especially input boxes from the old IE).

I'm trying to remember ... are there 4 entry boxes with an implied dash between the sets of 5 characters? (Only asking since the code is actually 24 characters, 20 + 4 dashes between the groups of 5).

both the code and the entry box are a single string with no characters. I tried entering the code including hyphes after every fifth character (and after every four by mistake ). I have also entered a string of "H" up to about fifty odd, at no time did the next button appear to be usable, and clicking on it did nothing.

i have also uninstalled and reinstalled from the downloadable on line, still no success.

Oh, i just noticed your reference to ie, mydefault browser is crome - is that a problem?

Actually, it's likely the Windows8 is the problem; Libronix used a large amount of Internet Explorer routines. As Internet Explorer moved past its XP years, Libronix began to have little issues, and finally big issues. There have been some (actually one) that got it to work in W8 but the rest seemed to have given up.

By the way, is there some reason you don't use the more modern Logos5? (1) The engine is free (2) Your Libronix resources work well in Logos5. I actually use both Libronix and Logos5 (I have Libronix in a virtual box that has XP).

A new Libronix CD without Libronix is handled by calling into Logos with the 20 digit code from your CD; then they download your books to Logos5 automatically.

I second what Denise has said. Logos support was quite helpful anytime I've called in with a similar problem.

1) It was in the box 2) I had no idea of the Logos / Libronix branding/product differences 3) Total ignorance ruled the day

So would i be correct that Logos the company supplies the electronic books, and both Libronix and Logos5 provide the environment to read, look up, etc the content. So I should just download Logos5, install, and then contact Logos support to get the content I have paid for moved across to the newer Logos5 software?

Yes, same company (Logos is the new one).

Here's a good discussion of the new product and what it entails. If you're protestant, you would want Logos5; if Catholic Verbum has more Catholic tailoring.

If you already installed Libronix, set up your Logos credentials the same as Libronix. Logos will then automatically download for you.

Libronix depends on IE as stated, and v3.0g was built to work with IE8. It will work on IE9 with a Logos patch, but Windows 8 introduced IE10/11 and that is where various problems arise with dialog boxes. There is no fix as Libronix is no longer supported.
