Hi,
I don't understand, is verbum a different app? or just a different book bundle? I'm tempted to buy the package because I would like stuff like Aquinas and Catholic documents but I don't want to run a separate program...
Cheers,
John
Hi John
I don't understand, is verbum a different app? or just a different book bundle?
Verbum was originally a combination of some bundled resources and a switch in Logos to utilise those resources appropriately.
It still does work in this way but there is also an optional, separate Verbum application
This is discussed - at some length - in http://community.logos.com/forums/t/78251.aspx

If you buy Verbum the books will integrate into your existing Logos Library. No need to install a separate application. A separate application does exist but not required and is aimed more at new catholic users who may decided to take up a catholic branded interface which offers slightly different features to the standard Logos interface. For now you can also access this alternate interface in Logos 5 by entering a command in the application.
Verbum is a different book bundle. It can be a different app, if you want.
The Verbum app is identical to the Logos app (apart from the branding), but it's configured slightly differently. For example, the default prioritisation is different, so Catholic books will be prioritised above protestant books, and the guides have the Catholic sections added by default.
If you're already running Logos, and you buy Verbum, all the Verbum content will be available in Logos. The additional guide sections (such as the Catholic Topical Index) will also become available. However, the default configuration will remain the same, which may or may not suit you.
If you want to change that configuration in Logos, you can type set verbum to yes in the command box. That will effectively ensure your Logos installation behaves exactly the same way as a Verbum installation would.
This is currently true, but we have been told eventually the Verbum Desktop App will have different features not found in Logos, I would not advise having BOTH installed since there is no simple way to have them share data, and you would have your Library saved on your computer twice. Now as for Verbum in the mobile world, it is a sort of merging of the faithlife app and the Logos app contain elements of them both.
