Lewis and Short Goes Into Production Quickly

Lewis and Short officially closed a few hours ago and I just received the following email...
"We are about to begin processing Pre-Pub orders for Lewis and Short's Latin Dictionary."
Wow, was that ever fast! They must have already been working on it.
By the way, if you missed it the cost is now $99.95

They must have, I know that the price is the same over at another software company, I am looking forward to it in Logos. It is a very important work to have, if I hand't been sure it would make it to Logos I would have snapped it up from the other company.

It must be about to be included into a base package somewhere, that would explain the work in advance of going over 100% and the last minute surge in interest to put it in production.

I'm sure the fact that it's been in CP for over two years probably has something to do with it

This is what I believe will happen to New Interpreter's Bible
Probably my mistake I've seen it gone to production and later they apologized for the confusion. Hope this guess works[:)].

That's the Elementary one. Plus it's a Perseus edition. You've probably got it already. I have.

But when you look at the Lewis and Short product page, https://www.logos.com/product/16014/lewis-and-shorts-latin-dictionary, it does not show up as being part of this collection. Would like this clarified by Logos before I cancel my pre-order.
Edit:
Just saw your clarification fgh, so glad I didn't cancel my $24.95 pre-order. The one in the classics collection doesn't even show up in logos as being by short, only by Lewis even thought it is listed twice on the classic foundations bundle page as being by both lewis and short.
Appreciate your comment was made in good faith Mark, but it shows it pays to check everything even when an MVP says it before you act.

As you say, it's listed twice on that page, but there's only one in your library. I assumed the other one is the one that's just been done. I could be wrong (the date is different by one year).

Until told otherwise, I will assume that's a 'typo'. Why would they release another Perseus volume after all this time? They left it out precisely because they wanted to make money on it. If we can all get it free through Perseus, why would anyone want to pay for it?
Besides, both lines list it as 'Elementary'. Lewis & Short is not Elementary. This is what the real Perseus site shows:
I'll go ask for clarification on the Noet forum.

Also, for those that did not get in on the pre-pub pricing, the current and even the regular price is a great value compared to print.

As I understand it and I haven;t heard anything for a while, when Abingdon provides them with new eTexts the NIB should be able to go ahead into production. I had been told that Logos was told to expect the new eText sometime after mid march. Either the new eText is not good enough to bring down production costs or they are still waiting. It is frustrating because like many of you I am sure I would like to have the NIB yesterday.... But assuming it is coming it will come along in good time I am sure.

But is does not show up on the Lewis and Short product page as being part of the NOET Classics Collection. Every other resource that is part of a collection shows up as such on its product page. Why would this one not ? Until I get a guarantee from Logos that it is indeed part of this collection. I wouldn't assume it is in that collection.
I'm happy to be wrong but err on the side of caution rather than telling people something that we can not be certain about and could cost them significantly if they cancel their pre-pub based on your comment.

Bump - still waiting on an answer from logos on this one

Lewis and Short's Latin Dictionary is not part of the Noet Classical Foundations Bundle. Rather, the Noet Classical Foundations Bundle includes the Perseus edition of An Elementary Latin Dictionary which is an abridged version of Lewis and Short. I hope this clears things up.

I'm already loving this thing. I'm not sure why but the instant lookups from the latin pop open the Perseus english versions! Woo-hoo!!! Is this gorgeous or what?
(Obviously latin didn't make it into my top 10 languages I was fluent in.)
EDIT: Even more amazing. Reading Florida (since I used to live there), I tried out a few latin jewels on Bible Word Study. I sure wasn't expecting that! Maybe it was already available.

The long bubble shows that the morphology tagging was generated automatically by a computer, and it lists all the possible forms, rather that the one specific "correct" form. So for a language like Latin, where a given lexeme can have multiple meanings depending on the vagaries of the declension and conjugations, you'll get a correspondingly long list of possibilities.

Ah - seems different than the Greek morph I have seen. Thanks for the explanation!

You're welcome. The morphological tagging in the Perseus Greek texts is also generated automatically, so you can get very long lists of morphologies with them as well.
In fact, when you do get one specific "morph bubble", such as with a tagged Greek New Testament, or this particular version of Homer's Iliad, it means that someone has gone through and individually tagged every word by hand. This explains why the morph bubble only has one entry, and generally has more specific information (a translation, for example). (And why such resources cost so much more to produce).

Ah so! Thank you Greg. I too was wondering why some Perseus latin volumes had short popups and some were lengthy.
I'd assume, presuming Logos will flesh out the BWS (maybe LWS!), they'll need to do something to handle all the tag varients.

I see - no equivalent of OpenText or Cascadia in the Greek world, some sort of academically accurate tagging so it was done by computer with lots of choices. Better than nothing I guess!
