Peace AND! Joy in the Lord to my Logos Forums Community Brothers and Sisters!

I just joined an exciting group yesterday -- Basics of Biblical Greek.

23 Members!              Really exciting!                         Already have documents on Documents.Logos.com

See, please ...   the screenshot below!  *smile*

When I open my Logos 5 on my desktop!  I DO HAVE all of these documents.

My question -- please help me solve the mystery -- If! I revise any of these, do my revisions percolate to the desktops of my fellow group members?

If! someone else revises any of these (Vocabulary Word Lists), does their revision show up on my Logos 5 setup?

To protect the integrity of my data, should I "disconnect"???

Help me please to understand the significance of how these groups works!

Actually, I'm quite impressed; however, I see a few possible dangers of possible "trouble spots"???

Am I wrong?         *smile*                  Please correct me, eh?!

    Hi Milford,

An author can share a document to Faithlife in two ways:

    1. It can be Published. In this case a copy is made and shared with the group. Each member downloads their own private copy. Any changes are not synced back to the group.
    2. It cac be Collaborated. In this case a live document is synced to the Faithlife group. Any changes the author makes is synced with the copy in the Faithlife group. Members of the group have two options:
      1. They can make a Copy of the collaborated document, in which case they do not get any further updates and any changes they make are not synced back to the group.
      2. They can Connect to the collaborated document and then both receive updates and make updates to the document that are automatically synced back to the group for the benefit of others.

Those you mention in the BBG group are collaborated so that others can make any corrections. I posted the first few, and since I don't yet know greek, I wanted others in the group to check my work and help make updates if needed.

EDIT: Note if you Connect to a Collaborated document, and you no longer want to be connected but want to keep your copy, there is an option to Disconnect from the document so that it is no longer synced with the group.

Wonderful, Randy!                 You have spoken so very well indeed to my concerns; and lack of understanding!  I am grateful.

Your response is extremely helpful; and I fear I have under-appreciated and under-valued the power of a FaithLife Group!

I used the forums for my question because the "work load" of the BBG group is heavy with most of the group members I'm sure having various other heavy responsibilities yet not wanting to miss the "boosting" of their Greek Expertise.     Being a retired old guy I can proceed at my own pace, eh?!

                                Thank you!              Blessings!                     *smile*
