Jewish and Catholic Study Bibles - one good, one bad

I got the Jewish Study Bible yesterday and the Catholic Study Bible today - but only the Catholic Study Bible has mobile rights so I can use/read it on my iPhone.

C'mon, Oxford, you let us use LSJ on our mobile devices.

Also, I'm still hoping Logos will get the 1999 revised version of the JPS Tanakh (which the Jewish Study Bible is based on), rather than just the original 1985 edition.

It also says it is available for mobile on its product page, so you might need to check again. Maybe force close the app and restart?

None of my mobile resources I checked show the "mobile" icon under the book on the product page. There used to be an icon of a smartphone, but I don't see it anymore. So how does one know if a resource has mobile rights or not? Did they move the icon somewhere else or otherwise indicate if a resource could be viewed using the Logos app or at biblia.com?

Hi,

A very young person was speaking to me from some dept or other and very hastily concluded that I might find relief by writing to you about reconnecting the Jewish study bible with the bible text as it comes in HC. He said I could create a link which however gets erased as soon as I close the program and then I have to recreate the link up, again and again. So I am at a loss as to what good creating this link is supposed to be. I am hoping that you will consider selling the "Jewish Study Bible" and not "the Jewish Study Bible Notes", Or else please do yourself and us a favor and rename your product and also change the cover picture, so that we know up front what we are buying or else everything you sell us will of necessity become suspect and we will waste many valuable man hours reading the before and after print descriptions of what ever you decide to name your product and sell it to us as, especially when we should be able to assume that there's truth in advertising, and also since we can no longer assume that you mean the same thing as the original meaning of the packaged product in hardcopy. I hope my point is not wasted here. The Jewish Study Bible is by now an old and established product which is very easily recognizable both by name as well as appearance. what you are selling is NOT the Jewish Study Bible. It is just the Notes and adding a note at the end of the description does nothing for us old timers that have owned the J.S.B. since it was first issued.. We feel safe in assuming that product recognition is enough, or should be, for us to know what we are referring to. This is the Bible suggested by logos as a link up to the J.S.B.

The way to connect the Jewish Study Bible to the JPS translation is through advanced prioritization. Essentially all version specific study Bible need such a prioritization.

Jaime, you seem to have two frustrations: Logos advertising for the JSB, and the fact the links disappear after you set them?

(1) I agree the Logos.com pages that involve study Bibles (and don't include actual Bibles) should be very clear on that. That's been a complaint for some time. However (!), Logos sells the notes separate from the Bibles so that users can choose which Bible to match up. I myself prefer to match up the Tanakh (which also has translation notes) with the JSB. However others might instead prefer the KJB or even a latin or hebrew version.

(2) If you want your connecting links to 'stick', you need to save your opened resources as a layout: http://wiki.logos.com/Layouts__ Then next time, you just open the layout (or even have Logos automatically open your layout, in the settings).
