Reporting typos

Sure wish I could report typos within the Android app. I do the vast majority of my reading through the app on my phone and tablet rather than the PC. I found other mentions of this in the forums, but they are all rather old, so I thought I would bring it up again.

Thanks, Drew. I understand. There are other features (like incorporating clippings into the app) that I would set as a higher priority as well. I just hate not being able to report the things I notice while I am reading.

This is something I really want to see. Because honestly, you have a lot of books with an awful lot of typos in them.

I was reading one of the new books in a Lutheran base package on the andriod app just yesterday, and was frustrated when I couldn't report an obvious error. I think that over the long run, Logos would benefit by having better quality texts.

One workaround is to create a Typo note document and use the No Highlight style to highlight the typos. That way the highlight won't interfere with visual highlights, and the next time you use Logos Desktop you can refer to your Typo note document and report them to Logos. Obviously not the best solution - just a suggestion.

I had been saving typos to Evernote for later reporting which works pretty well, too.

I do this, but not every time. A typo reporter would be better a) for the user, so as not to have to visit the problem twice, and b) for Logos, to get more typos reported.

Admittedly, I'm an infrequent enough poster to these forums that I may just not understand how things operate around here... but why is a report typo feature not a given? (I.e., it has to be voted on.) Even Kindle has it.

You'd be essentially getting free labor/proofing from your users, resources would be improving, etc. It's a win-win, especially for Logos. Regardless of how few/many users request it, it really does seem to be in Logos's best interest to make reporting typos easy for users--which it very much is in the desktop app... something I appreciate and hope will appear soon on mobile devices.

This, right here, I voted on user voice, but this feature should not depend on popularity or demand; I would think (hope?) Logos would want to make it available for quality control purposes. As for me, I designate certain books in my library as "phone books." I read them on my phone when I'm stuck somewhere having to wait. I don't necessarily touch them again on my desktop. The work-around works but should not strictly be necessary. I'm sure there must be some users who predominantly or exclusively use the Android app and thus have no means of reporting typos.

Yes. My point exactly. I did "vote," but I don't think this feature should even be left to a vote. Hopefully we'll see it soon.

I created a typo style and a typo note file. That way I just highlight typos and report them later. I too wish that there was a tool in the app, particularly since most reading that I do is on mobile.

I'm a writer and editor, and a consumer who has paid a lot of money for the resources I have in Logos. The editing process to publish a book in printed form goes through so many iterations and copy edits that the finished product is excellent as a result. I know that for the more current resources Logos must get electronic files from the publishers, so it can't be responsible for the typos in those resources. But certainly for the public domain books, Logos should step up its editing capability. We pay top dollar for Logos public domain resources. They should be 98% error free upon release.

The crowdsourcing movement gives Logos the ability to have its customers help them with what they should be doing all along, and that without incurring any additional editing expense besides what it takes the read the typo report and determine if an edit needs to be made. Since we're helping Logos out by wanting to report typos, Logos should build out this functionality across all its platforms. It will make customers happier by knowing that they have a way to make Logos resources better for everyone.
