Print / Export opening older version of Microsoft Word

Running on Windows 8.1

I have recently installed Office 2013 (using an Office365 subscription) - this left the Office 2010 versions on the computer.

When I use the Logos "Print / Export" function and choose "Send to new document" Word 2010 is invoked as opposed to 2013.

Does anyone know how to "repoint" Logos to use the later versions of the Office programs?

If a document is open in Word 2013 that is used, if a new document needs to be created Word 2010 is used.

It may not be Logos. Which version is used for file associations in Windows i.e. does Word 2010 open when you click a .doc/.docx document?

The simple way to fix associations is to uninstall Office 2010!

No, Word 2013 opens if I simply click on a document

The simple way to fix associations is to uninstall Office 2010!

Fair point - I was surprised to see it hadn't been uninstalled and a little cautious above removing it for if it is needed for anything.

Sorry Graham for your frustration--I wish it would do that on mine--but as Dave says this appears to be Windows/Office related.

I only added Word 2013 in order to get the .pdf features. yet it has been installed as the "go-to" app.

The only way that I can get at Word 2010 is to open 2010 first and then, from it's requester, open either a .doc or .docx [which both then open in 2010] -- I've tried to change this preference from within Windows etc but with no success.

Logos just uses the "default" version of Word that is installed. I don't know if it's possible to configure this through Word's options or not.

Theoretically, if you edit HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Word.Application\CurVer to say "Word.Application.15" instead of "Word.Application.14" (which I would expect to be the current value on your system based on what you've described), Word 2013 will be launched by default. Standard warnings and disclaimers about editing the registry apply.

I had the same experience installing Office 365 over Office 2007, but uninstalling Office 2007 afterward was simple and effective (no side-effects!).
