Note icon changes in 4.1.1

When I create a note after highlighting a selection, I make sure the black star is selected as the icon.  but when the note is completed and I return to the text, the icon color does not stay black.  The screen shows the color selected and the color that is displayed inline within the the text.  To fix, I have to change the color to another color and then back to the desired color.  For what it is worth, usually the first attempt works correctly, but subsequent attempts do not.  See screen shot.  Can anyone confirm?
