Library list -- scroll click scroll click scroll click
A lot of people have asked for a faster way to get to a book in the Library view, or complained about having to click "more" too many times. There is a text box at the top of the page where you can provide a filter, just like in Logos 4, which lets you find a book immediately.
Does anyone find the filter helpful? How do you use the library view, and do you think there's something we could add that would make it easier to use?

I have used it to search for books that I may have on there. But it's a bit of trial and error simply because I do not yet know what all the books are. Any attempt to get and look at a master list are impossible.
In this instance I'm trying to see which Bibles I can use. I've tried type:bible to just show my bibles but that doesn't work.

The rating filter doesn't seem to work on library.logos.com:
rating:>=1 or rating:5 displays no resources, whereas rating:>=0 displays all the resources.
This, of course, works correctly in Logos 4.
If it worked correctly, I could limit the resources I see easier. It would be especially nice if the rating filter was sticky, (i.e. was applied by default from a setting), then I could see my favorite books easily.

I get that from the home page, where it only accepts bible refs, or else you get a 404. If you click on the book icon (to bring up the library), and enter the filter text there, then it works for me.
Which goes to show...the UI needs some work.

At the moment there is a technical limitation preventing us from supporting comparison operators against user-specific metadata (like ratings). I hope we can support it eventually, but it's not high on the list for now.

Does "rating:5" use comparison operators?
That's somewhat unfortunate, since user metadata is the one way we have of limiting our resources to what we want (not sure if I said that clearly). It would be wonderful if I could only display 5 star books.
Is there going to be a feature like the iPhone's bookshelf?

Specifying a field won't work for user metadata. I agree that it's unfortunate, and like I said, I hope we'll resolve this eventually.

I do use the filter to find the book I want, and it works fairly well. However, I find it still takes a long time to click the library icon, type the search term, move over to click the button, wait for the reload, then scroll through the filtered results for the right book. So while I don't think there's anything broken at all about the library view, I do wish there was a quick way to get to my frequently-used books. I noticed that there's a Favorites list. I can see this fitting the bill, but I don't know how to add something to my favorites list. Also, it would be good if the Favorites (or whatever shortcut solution) was more accessible. Perhaps on the Home screen under the Go box?

The favorites list is synced with your logos 4 favorites, but there is not yet a way to add a favorite from library.logos.com.
The iPhone app has a list of recent resources, which is just a simple list of the last 20 books you have viewed. Does this sound like it would take care of the issue for you guys?

Ah, I wondered if it was the L4 favorites. I haven't used them, but maybe now I will.
I think the list of recent resources would be enough (when combined with the existing Library page and the Favorites). I think a key is making the list easily accessible (maybe another top-level icon or putting it on the homepage) so that it doesn't take multiple clicks (and multiple postbacks) to get to it.
