iPhone/iPad BHS not showing correct information in Lookup

This is my first forum post, so I hope it is in the right place. I have tried to search forums on this issue and found something similar as an issue for the Android App, but not specifically for the iPhone/iPad.

Whenever I try to use the Lookup feature with compound words or words connected to conjunctions, etc. in the BHS (LLS:WIVUMORPH 2014-03-18T21:00:23Z), it will often only give me the information on the part I am uninterested in. I usually am looking to find out the main word Lemma, etc. but it gives me the info on the conjunction or ending that wasn't highlighted. Also, it will sometimes give me info. For the previous word that wasn't highlighted either. Hopefully screenshots of the issue will help.

Has anyone else experienced this or know how to get the App to show the main Lemma or the Lemma for each part of the compound word?

I know the PC version can show me all Lemma for each part of compound word or words with attached endings.

Welcome to the forums! This is indeed the right place. [:)]

I'm sorry, but I don't have a good answer for you. I don't read Hebrew, so I can't be of much help. Since the searches are performed on the Logos servers, there are problems from time to time when the servers have a NEWER version of a resource than the one you downloaded. If the resources is downloaded, you might try deleting it and re downloading... But from your description it seems that the problem is with Lammas on compound words, right?

Thanks for replying so quickly. The issue is definitely the Lookup function for the Lemmas.

BHS just had a recent update to this resource that my iPad notified me of yesterday, so I downloaded it again. Today, I have tried deleting it and re-downloading it again with the same results. Why does the PC version allow you to see or cycle through all the Lemmas on compound or connected words, but the iPhone/iPad just gives only one piece?

We are aware of the problem and are working on a fix.

Hi. I am pretty frustrated with this issue as well as I used the iPad mainly to read the Hebrew Bible. I guess Logos knew the bugs are there but they are not priorities to them, as not many of the Logos users are using the iPad this way.

Anyway, I have a few Hebrew Bibles in my iPad and to my experience BHS 4.2 usually return the correct Lookup information (to be more precise Lookup in BHS 4.2 will tend to return the most useful information in case it encountered a compound word with prefixes/suffixes). Lexham Hebrew Bible is terrible in this regard, but I believe Logos want to build resources on it (it is tagged with information about the root).

Dave, want to ask if Logos will consider showing all the meanings of the morphemes within a compound word in your mobile app as well, like the Desktop version of it. I guess by this way you saved the work of needing to manually code the program to select which morpheme to show, which I believe did involve human work to scan through the texts. According to my experience of reading the Hebrew Bible, some words are really "compounded" in a way that readers do need to lookup the meaning of the prefixes and suffixes attached to it, especially when those are the rare irregular pronomial suffixes.

I do hope Hebrew users here and programmers will have some dialog here to make this program better. I did invest quite a lot of money in Logos and hopefully I won't consider moving it to somewhere else in my lifetime.

This has been fixed in version 4.3.0 which should be available this week from the Apple Store.
