How does giving Logos Software as a Christmas gift work?

I really, really, really hope that by next Christmas we have the ability to publish a Logos wishlist like we do with Amazon. Yes, I know you can use some universal wish lists to do this, but it does not work quite the same. I also think that if Logos would do this, it would draw more more to their website and who knows? Some of those people might turn out to be customers themselves, rather than just buying a gift for someone they know!

If I want to buy a base product as a gift for someone else, do I still get a discount based on what I have previously purchased?

Also, how do you buy a gift for someone else -- it all seems to end up on my account -- how will they unlock the product - it's confusing to me. Anyone know how this works?

If you purchase through the automated system it will be licensed to you. Wait until Monday and talk with a Customer Service Rep. You should definitely be able to get the base package at the current Christmas discount but I doubt they will credit your previous purchases toward an upgrade price for someone else unless you transfer your license to that individual.

So, do you gentlemen always leave the price tag on a gift when you give it? I thought of that, but it leaves the invoice in that new account. Now, while what I paid isn't going to be a big secret, I still felt uneasy about giving a gift that way.

Terry, not sure what you mean about the price tag on the gift... If you enter your payment information, the recipient will still only know if they look online, unless of course you are thinking of an invoice with the boxed set....

Any way you look at it, the pricing is readily available... Customer Service may be able to help in disguising it better, not sure to what extent...

I think the problem with not signing in is that you would not get your discount since it is based on what you've already purchased. Or is the discount only for upgrades? Not sure about that.

If you create an account for the person, purchase it under that account the invoice stays in the history of that account. I know It's not like the prices isn't readily available, it just reminds me of leaving a price tag on a gift. Yes, I know it is silly, but so much of what our culture considers good manners is.

I can't remember either about saving CC info. But you can not purchase Logos 4.0 as a physical install, can you? I thought all the base packages are by download only. I may be wrong . I do remember some blurb about NOT trying to download Version 4 if you have a dial-up connection, so maybe you can buy a box and have it shipped to someone.

I tried to send a gift subscription for the Bible Study Magazine to someone but I failed to tell the CS rep in the beginning of the process and the CS rep hit the send key. I was then told that I should have told him that it was to be a gift earlier in the process. They do have some kind of process to do it but I didn't have time to listen to what should/could have happened. As someone here said - talk to the CS rep monday morning.

If you created the new account for the recipient, then you could simply log into it after the initial purchase and delete the credit card info, and let them put in their own if they wanted to buy further books for their library.

Gift giving problem solved quickly and easily by a very nice and knowledgeable customer service rep first thing this morning. Waiting until Monday was good advice. It was handled quickly and easily by Santiago -- I sent an email to customer service giving him very high praise for doing such a great job -- I hope it gets through. After sending it I got one of those automated replys that says they are too busy to reply right now -- but I hope a real person reads it and he is acknowledged for excellent customer service.

You have the option to send both the boxed set and send them the download via email. He is going to hold off on sending them the email for a few days so they won't get the email before Christmas. He also sent me an email with their download instructions so I can forward it to them. It was really very easy and took only about 5 minutes.

I wonder how the download will work, my CS told me that he had to have an account with Logos before he could do the download. He suggested that I create one for him, but I just opted for the boxed set.
