Forgot to check mobile device availability
Have you ever bought a book hoping to read it on your mobile device but forgot to check to see if it is available? I should have known better but I did it again today. Has anyone else done this in the past?
After hearing an interview with John Ortberg I bought his new book Soul Keeping on Vyrso - https://vyrso.com/product/40297/soul-keeping-caring-for-the-most-important-part-of-you. Oh well, I really don't want it in paper format either so I guess I will just have to read it on my computer.
I realize that there are publisher limitations on some resources but does anyone know if there might be any hope of having this available on mobile devices in the future? Is this something that changes very often?

It doesn't appear that way to me. I don't see it listed as such on the website either. Maybe I'm missing something.

All Vyrso books are mobile-enabled, which i guess is why this information isn't included on the Vyrso product pages.

I didn't know that. I thought it was the same as Logos - most yes, some no.

Your question has caused me to do some more digging in my library. For sure "Soul Keeping" doesn't have mobile options listed in my library view but I went through each of my 717 Vyrso resources that I own and found that the following 14 resources didn't have the mobile option listed in my library. Here is my list. It would be interesting to see if others notice the same thing.

Those are probably all Zondervan titles. This is a known issue, and probably relates to Z's tight fist over LOGOS edition resources not being able to be viewed on mobile.

Yes these are all Zondervan titles. I didn't realize that this was a known issue but I certainly don't understand the "why" of it. If someone could explain it that would be great. Also, is there a plan to fix this?

I don't have a definitive answer, and I think it is unlikely that we will get one from Logos. It isn't good for a company to badmouth the other companies they do business with... I think that explains the silence on the issue.
Zondervan is very particular about what rights and privileges they extend. For example, most Logos editions are NOT mobile enabled. ALL Vyrso editions are available on both mobile and desktop, but many/most are NOT available on biblia.com.

My guess is "no." Again, I don't have any inside info... It may be that Zondervan doesn't allow Logos to give us the ability to manage mobile downloads. Conversely, it may be a safeguard on the part of Logos to ensure that the wrong titles don't accidentally become "mobile enabled." As far as I know (or can remember! I may have just forgotten [:P]), Logos has never addressed the subject.

Why is this 1990 resource not available on mobile devices? I too purchased it last night with the hopes of reading it for a "Creation Series" I'm planning on doing, and when I checked my iPhone and iPad...nothing! I mean, I'll still keep the book, but I don't see why a resource that was published back in 1990 is not available on my mobile devices when other new ones are. Anyway the resource I'm talking about, if you didn't follow the link, is The Dinosaur Dilemma: Fact or Fantasy Great resource by the way!

What's significant about 1990? The book is under copyright, and presumably Logos doesn't have permission to enable it in mobile. (Sometimes Logos just forget's to 'flip the switch,' but that is pretty rare.)
By the way, the age of the book makes it MORE likely that it wouldn't be "mobile enabled." For the most part, all NEW resources have come with licensing agreements for both platforms. Older resources weren't negotiated for both, so Logos has to get permission first.

Just to clarify - in the context of the subsequent discussions about download management from the Logos 5 library
Some resources (and Zondervan Vyrso resources are a good example as Alabama pointed out) can't be "download managed" from the Loogs 5 library but they are still available within the mobile apps themselves
