Bug: Old Testament Pseudepigrapha resources do not work with "Add versions", with Priority, or with
The "Old Testament Greek Pseudepigrapha with Morphology" by Penner and Heiser has many parallel texts with the "Pseudepigrapha of the Old Testament" and "Apocrypha of the Old Testament" by Charles. However, Logos does not recognize them in any way as parallel resources:
1. The "Add versions" on a search box does not work.
2. Prioritizing one version over the other makes no difference as to which resource is opened
3. Selecting the drop down for parallel resources on the locator bar does not recognize them as parallel resources.
To see an example of this, run a Word Study on λαμπάς. In the "Textual Searches" section of the Word Study, you will get 5 results in the "Pseudepigrapha". Clicking on Pseudepigrapha will open up the search results in the Penner and Heiser resource.
1. Click "Add versions" and add the Charles resource. The results will be in blank, even though they also exist in Charles' resource.
2. Prioritize the Charles resource above the Heiser resource. Click on the search results, hoping that the Charles resource will be opened. The Heiser resource will be opened.
3. Select the drop down for parallel resources. The drop down says "No parallel resources"
Then, just to double check, copy the resource location and manually paste it into the Charles resource. It will open it up correctly, with a translation of the Greek text found int he Heiser resource.

Try making a collection of them with parallel resources set. It may be as simple as the collections not existing automatically.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it out, and this fixes the third problem, as the parallel resources drop down begins to work properly.

This has been broken for non-Bibles for some time (by 'non-Bibles', I mean resources that are not of the 'Bible' type in Logos).

Charles does not appear in the Textual Searches section of the BWS because it is not morphologically tagged. Only morphologically tagged resources can show up there.
As a workaround you can switch to Analysis view in the resulting search window, where you have an additional column that will give your most highly prioritised resource if you hover over it.

As Martha says, adding both resources to a collection solves that. The reason you need to do it is because the two resources are of different types (one is a Monograph, the other is an Ancient Manuscript. The "All Parallel Resources" section of Parallel Resource menu will only display resources of the same type (otherwise you'd end up with Bible commentaries showing up as parallel resources for Bibles, and vice-versa, which is not what most people would want).

"Add versions" requires the added resource to have the "Content" field (which identifies the "real" content of the text, aside from headings, translators' notes, etc.). Many English translations of ancient works are not annotated with this field, so they cannot be added. I know our content production team is aware of the need to add the "content" field to these works, but I don't know if/when that might be completed.

By default, "All parallel resources" doesn't cross resource types. (E.g., so that Bibles are not parallel with Bible commentaries by default.) Thus, "Ancient Manuscript" resources are not parallel with "Manuscript" resources. As MJ has shown, you can override this by creating a custom collection.
This distinction (between Ancient Manuscript and Monograph) seems needlessly restrictive to me; I'll create a case for bypassing it so "All parallel resources" can show, well, all parallel resources.

We required this in order to have "clean" previews (without footnotes, verse numbers, etc.). But since it would probably be better to have some preview instead of displaying a blank column, I think we could just relax this restriction. I'll open a case to investigate this.

Thanks. May I suggest prioritizing resources that appear in the Textual Searches tool of the Bible Word Study, as these would seem to be the works that would be most used, or where this problem would be most evident.

I am referring to the same behavior that was discussed here, and I agree with your answer there. Once the "Add version" works properly, and in light of the workaround that Mark Barnes mentions of the Analysis view, this isn't such a problem.

Thanks. I would be especially interested in seeing this opened up for non-Biblical texts, again with priority being given to those texts related to the "Textual Searches" tool. As regards Biblical texts, I can see how having no restriction would quickly become unmanageable, although maybe that can be avoided by just excluding Bible Commentaries.

cf. my above response to Bradley to clear up what I meant with this. And, thanks for the Analysis view tip - that works quite well, and is a decent workaround solution to not being able to Add versions! Both the hover-over and link connect to the highest prioritized resource.
