Vyrso Deal: From Pentecost to Patmos, Craig Blomberg ($2.99)

https://vyrso.com/product/39287/from-pentecost-to-patmos-an-introduction-to-acts-through-revelation
From Pentecost to Patmos is professor Craig L. Blomberg’s follow-up companion to his 1998 ECPA Gold Medallion Award-winning book, Jesus and the Gospels. In the same style as that first acclaimed and widely used volume, the author goes deep into the biblical writings of Acts through Revelation, helping serious Bible students to better understand the historical, linguistic, and theological significances found in each book.
577 pages long, according to Kindle store.
Seems like a great price at $2.99!
Be quick as I'm not sure how long this deal will be available.
(Hopefully a candidate for conversion to Logos format one day!)

They've always met the legal requirements to charge tax. When the law changed where you live, I don't know.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Since the law changed where you live! I remember I purchased some books for my brother during March Madness and they were going to charge me taxes because he lives in Texas. I said to my sales rep, but I'm paying and I live in Florida, so she said, "Oh, that's right, your card is in Florida and since you're paying, you don't have to pay taxes, but if you lived in Texas, then you'd have to pay taxes on everything you buy for yourself or anyone else." So, some law must've definitely changed where you live.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Warning: I just checked the preview, and this book looks about as bad as it gets when it comes to links. In the chapter that presumably was on Corinthians, they went to Romans. In the chapter on Colossians, they went to Acts, Philemon, Ephesians... For Hebrews they went to James, Acts, Genesis, Psalms... Just about anything except the book they were supposed to go to. And sometimes they weren't linked at all. So don't expect to get much use out of the links.

I'm not sure which specific links you're referring to, fgh, but I bought the book and everything appears to work as it should in terms of linking to bible books. That is, references to Luke point to Luke, Acts to Acts, etc. Perhaps the problem was with the website Preview?

fgh, I downloaded this book yesterday and, after your post I went through the book checking dozens of random tags throughout the book. I think the major issue is around verses that just list numbers without the book specifically mentioned in the reference. Auto tagging doesn't work well in situations where the context shows the message. e.g. In the chapter to the Corinthians is the following sentence. "The contents of the letter from the Corinthians to Paul may be discerned from the collection of issues Paul addresses from 7:1 to the end of the letter." Since it doesn't specifically identify what book 7:1 refers to it seems to go to Acts.
We know that auto tagging these sort of books is not perfect (and hence the low price) but to me, given the price, it is a small inconvenience to actually look up the passage.

This is a great deal, thanks for the heads up! I would be shocked if this book doesn't fairly quickly make its way to Logos format, as it is the sequel to Jesus and the Gospels: An Introduction and Survey, which has always been a Logos book, through both the first and second editions.

Bruce - you are spot on. One additional thing though... In your example, the reason 7:1 would go to Acts is because Acts would have been the last CLEAR reference. Any other references will remain in Acts until another clear reference replaces it. That works perfectly well... As long as the references stick to the same book which was referenced. Otherwise, not so much. [:s]

Yes, thanks for clarifying this. Unfortunately this book has a lot of references that don't specifically state the book in the reference but hey, this was an inexpensive book. It also shows the value of the work that has to be done before a book becomes a "Logos" book.

First a question: if this book is converted to Logos format in the future, will the Vyrso version be automatically upgraded, or will you have to buy the Logos version?
Second: both versions of the first book of Blomberg in this series is already in Logos

There's a standing promise by Logos that we will be upgraded for free.

You would get a free upgrade. Sometimes Logos doesn't seem to catch them though, so you might have to gently remind them that you are due the upgrade.

The first edition should be retired... I wonder why it hasn't been done so already.
