Titles remain in my library after end of Gold Package trial

When I click on my library to review the books that I have, the titles that were in the Gold Package free trial show up there, but the books are missing. How do I clear out all of these free trial titles so that only the titles that I own show up here?

I am not fully sure... but you might want to try the command "update resources", let it finish running, and restart your computer.

You need to check that you have no notes, clippings, layout, history etc. that refers to these titles before you can expect them to disappear. I'll try to find the thread that discussed this issue last month.

No, I've never done anything like that, that I know of. There are hundreds of titles.

I've tried update resources, update now, restart, reboot.

When I click on the title in the library, it says the book is no longer in my library, reload it. But the reload button is grayed out because I don't own it.

With hundreds of titles, I believe the best course of action is to contact Logos https://www.logos.com/contact

Yes, the hide, restart, unhide, restart, will remove the title permanently, but you can only drag one title at a time.

You can't drag an author or a group. Very time consuming.

I'll call Logos Support sometime.

Great suggestion- if that doesn't work try deleting your resource folder and restarting, draw back it will do a first indexing all over again- very timely. I had to do it to get rid of a couple glitches nothing else worked on and with 10k+ resources it wasn't fun

There is a way to hide multiple resources but you shouldn't have to hide, delete or perform any workaround. Logos should handle unlicensed resources much better, but it has been an issue since Logos 4 so you may have to:-

hide and unhide the resources; and
use the rebuild index command to get rid of results in your resource Index.

I didn't want to try that, unless I had a better understanding of the way Logos 5 works.

So, I found a way to hide groups of files quickly. Sort them by type, expand, then click on the first title, hold the shift key, scroll down to the end, click on the last title, release the shift key, hold down the ctrl key, right click on the titles, and select hide titles. (I don't know who dreams this stuff up, but I used to be an assembly language programmer, so I kind of understand it)

Then restart Logos. Stop Indexing.

Unhide all the resouces, one at a time. No quick method for this, painful.

Restart Logos, stop indexing and check everything. If OK, index.

Every step is painfully slow.

If I were in your position, and had no notes, I'd try uninstalling, clearing out the temp folders, then reinstalling from scratch.

What you're doing is tedious and could miss out some files here or there.

Of course, you could call support. Something might be glitched on the server end which is easily solved.

After hiding my all the books, restarting, unhiding all the books, restarting, it looks like the phantom titles are gone. Yes, it took a while, but it worked. Indexing didn't start automatically, but when I entered Rebuild index, it started and is about 70% complete. The library indicated over 3,000 titles before and it's down to 2,159, which is about right. It looks like all my books are intact. All is good, but very time consuming.

Hopefully, this may prompt Logos to improve their process if they are serious about the trial use of packages (but I think the indexing will have to be manual/optional for the user's convenience).
