I am wondering about the weather/electrical condtions of those living in the Mid-Atlantic/ Northeast today? Any of you snowed in?
Clear across the Atlantic (north of London) we have been snowed in for three days, but it thawed enough to get to church this morning.
Rochester, NY (50 miles east of Niagara Falls, NY), and no new snow for two or three days. The massive storm did not hit us - though I, like you, hear stories from just a bit south of us.
Blessings,
Floyd
Over here in the Netherland we have a very rare weather alarm because of snow. Rare, because in the last decade a real winter didn't occur. This morning I went with my wife and kids to church while I was happy to have those special winter tyres under my car. This morning the reading was from 2Kings 7. We can't keep the good news silent. We have to tell about what we've found: salvation through Christ!
I'm curious what the weather is like in the eastern countries, for instance with our Czech Bohuslav..?
Poolesville, MD, USA got 2 feet of snow between Friday night and this morning. It's 28 and clear today. No trouble with the utilities so far and I'm grateful for that! I do see neighbors leaving this morning but I plan to stay inside. There is still plenty of snow on the streets and I can't imagine parking would be fun. Tomorrow will bring the two hour drive each way to see my mom, who had a stroke on Tuesday and is in the hospital in Baltimore. For today, I'll reach her by phone.

Donovan, we got your snow last night up in Cumbia.
Nearly didnt go to church, but just made it the mile to the road from my house
Expecting it to freeze, and maybe snow agian tonight
Kaye,
I hope your mom recovers quickly and that the roads are clear enough for you to drive to see her.

Yikes! Snow after all the rain you guys have had!!! It's clear here now and is supposed to be for the next couple of days, then followed by more snow on Tuesday. Who knows? We just might have a white Christmas if it doesn't hurry up and melt!

Well it is the lake district, and no water = no lakes, but yes we have had a deluge lately
Me, too! Thanks...

20" of snow and not a lot of plowing going on!
18,000 without power (southern WV) yesterday and today....thankfully, we are ok...
Thanks for asking. Our weather is just normal frosty winter. About 20 cm of snow and minus 15 degrees of Celsius [:)]

No snow, 70º, Just when I'd have been in the middle of a nice snow I go away ! Drat, drat, double drat ! I actually like snow. When I was in Southern California I used to say that I missed the snow and was told that I could go visit the snow, but I didn't want to visit the snow, I wanted the snow to visit me. I remember some good snows in northern Indiana when I was a kid and quite a few when I was in Grand Rapids. Lovely stuff.
Here in Panama City, FL the clouds thought about snowing once, 10 yrs or so ago. A rather chilly 53 out there right now.

Hey, that is spring time around here - we could only hope. Average temperature of late has been 22-25 degrees.
mom, who had a stroke on Tuesday
In prayer with you...
About a foot along the coast in southern CT about 60 miles from NYC. Had to cancel church as the parking lot had not been cleared in time. probably would have had just a hearty few anyway. Its a lot for this time of year but will guarantee a white Christmas.
Thank you. I will let her know. Ruth Smith is her name...
Will keep you and your family in prayer.
Yours because His,
also praying Kaye
Have added her to my prayer list.

Thank you all for the prayers. I did not mean to hijack the blizzard thread but I will use it to update those praying as I know how she is. For now, please know that her stroke is large enough to have paraylzed her body on one side (I have seen the CT scan and am a retired neuro nurse - the damaged area is huge) and the doctors cannot understand why that did not happen. I know why...and so do you.

Then not only she is in need of our prayers but you as well. My mother had such a massive stroke and was in the nursing home for six years before her death. It's very trying to see someone you love in such condition. May God give you streingth.

Does this mean what I think it means? That your mother is not paralyzed?

I just missed the real snow here in central NC. We got less an a quarter inch, but my granddaughter 25 miles to the north got 6 inches, and her mother (my daughter) in South Side Virginia got more than 15 inches.
Thank you, George. While my main concern is for her, I am pretty worn down by the stress and so prayers are always appreciated. It IS very sad to see her looking so much older and more vulnerable now. I'm sorry about your mom.
Her only paralysis is the right side of her face and that seems to be getting better so she is more able to speak and swallow now than 6 days ago.
That is good news. We will continue to pray that the rest of the paralysis will also leave.
To all who prayed for my mom:
She is going HOME tomorrow! She's like a whole different person than she was 8 days ago or even 4 days ago. Her mind is clear and her body strong, other than the right side of her face. Even her face is much better. All she wanted was to be in her own home again and tomorrow that is exactly where she will be. God has given an 83 year old woman of faith her Christmas wish.
Thank you all for your prayers and your kindness.
