Hi Edgars - and welcome to the forums
Hello, i'm just intersted why i can't listen to The Expositor’s Bible Commentary
As per http://community.logos.com/forums/t/70651.aspx , the read-aloud function has been disabled for all Zondervan products
Graham
Doesn't this go against the American disabilities act? Not only is the logos Read aloud disabled also the Apple text to speech is disabled
Sue Zondervan!! I'll pop the popcorn! [:P]
There are other text-to-speech programs that can be used. If the ADA required everyone to have read-aloud features in their software, we would have a lot less software. Requiring Zondervan to allow the read-aloud function is tantamount to requiring all books sold on Amazon to include a free audio version with the print version. How about suing publishers for not offering Braille versions of every title?
*I post this as a legally blind Logos user who bought all the big Zondervan bundles.*
Speech has not been disable on Zondervan products in Accordance... I have a cat that often manages to start speech while running past my laptop (he's talented). It is bizarre that Logos has been forced to do that. And yes someone should sue Zondervan it is a complete infringement on the rights of people requiring access.

I understand that but Zondervan seems to have ordered an accessibility feature to be turned off. I guess it is Zondervan's right to do it, but seems less than fair.

I agree it would be an act of good will on Zondervan's part and I wish they would do it.
That link does not work BTW
Stephen it is

without the final comma.
Expositor's Bathetic Commentary - gets older by the day. For those who have one: You should sell it.

How many way can we interpret what does not change? Not like a piece of technology which becomes outdated shortly after it's released. [:)]
If we "sell" it - some has to "buy" it.
Shalom - chill!
I know quite a few people who consider EBC a best in class commentary. Though they are all from a denomination that you hate na/unix.
I consider the EBC one of the finest evangelical commentaries out there. At $125 it was an ideal thing to suggest everyone own to at least get a different viewpoint. I find it useful and the volume one articles are informative and we are at a loss that a volume of new or updated articles did not accompany the revision. I was raised in a low Lutheran church and am now Anglican take my opinions how you like.
