Mixed message Not Your Average Bible Study

The Guide itself is electronic; the place to give answers is electronic; yet some of the instructions appear to be geared for manual effort. Or, if in fact, the Guide expects us to build the obvious Visual Filter, it could save me some unproductive effort by building the filter and making it available on a common site.

To throw another view in, I think this is an example of both teaching people how to better use Logos for Bible study (we may learn a skill we can take to other Bible study activities), plus learning comes from doing - it is common for study lessons in many disciplines to include practical exercises that emphasize a point, from children-age up through adults. I personally don't see a problem with this, but that's just my opinion.

I think these are the usual artifacts which we encounter in electronic media that had originally been produced for the dead-tree world. However, it's a great idea to accomplish the same by use of a Visual Filter! I would have only thought of highlighting with a certain style, in effect duplicating the manual work - but then, the aim of the task probably was to slow down reading and reflect on each of the instances during the markup process.

I agree this is a great opportunity for teaching, thus there would be instructions or a link to a "How to" video that explain how to make a visual filter.

I hope Logos is reading all these threads. There is potential here, but the product as it is now is seriously lacking.

I think we need to remember that these resources are exactly the same as they appeared in the Bible Study Magazine. I liked them in the magazine and I like them in the digital format. I have used many of them as a springboard for my Sunday night Bible Study at church.

I haven't forgotten and I do recognize that using these resources should be possible without the full Logos application. I'm actually thinking Faithlife/Biblia. But I also believe that Logos should design Logos/Verbum to be able to do what the Bible Study Guides/Hermeneutics/Exegesis resource recommend especially when Logos is the original publisher. So I am taking advantage of the opportunity to push on several issues I think Logos needs to consider, especially some that have been requested by users multiple times in the past.
