Layouts
Hi. I have a setup for exegesis that I finally landed on, but I have commentaries that are linkset to my Bibles, dictionaries are set to each other, and my notes, clippings, and searches are kind of in the middle, and I like the way it works better than any layout I have seen anyway. In other words, it took a lot of work to get it there. So I want to know if there is a way to copy that layout and rename it to the passage under study, while keeping the one I have? I have to preach a sermon series in my class on four different NT texts this semester and need four layouts. So I need to repeat this process time and again. Even if there is another way to do it without having to set each and every book would be great! Thanks!

1. open the layout
2. open layout tab and save "now" via "save as named" giving it a different name.

Thank you. I didn't know you could just keep doing that. It makes it convenient. I wish I would have know that 3 years ago!

Are you saying I can just open the layout and keep saving it under a different name? It doesn't change the name of the current one? I am going to try this. Thank you.

That's right, Stephen.
I have a handful of what I call, "template layouts". These are layouts I don't use themselves, but will use to make a specific layout. For example, I have a general Bible study layout template. When I want to study Romans, I will go to the Bible study template and save it as, "Romans study". If I later want to study Galatians, I do the same, but name it, "Galatians study". And so on.
It works well for what you are trying to do.

Here's my blank reading layout, for when I wish to read a monograph and take notes. I simply open the book in the blank space in the left.
Here's my general bible study layout. I can open the passage of interest and the commentaries are set to follow automatically (I had to edit series names to make this work).
And here's the template I use for journal reading (I'll often open other note sets in tabs with the first as needed); the journal itself goes in the blank area-

I have a visual filter that separates the different verbs, along with conjunctions. How did you make you Visual Filter? I assume LN = Louw-Nida?

I'd show you my layout but I can't seem to post it on here. I use Print Screen and the Snipping Tool, but it won't work.

While on layouts .... something I realised by accident a few months back.
You can drag layouts onto the main icon bar and number them 1,2,3,etc.
