Definitions stopped working
Hey there all,
When I highlight a word and tap study it brings up the screen that has the circle graph of usage and example usages but the definition tab is greyed out and it doesn't show any definitions. I've checked my settings but I don't see anything that might make a difference. Hopefully all you kind people can help me out.
Thanks for your time!

Hi Aaron,
Which resource are you using, and which word did you highlight?

I'm using the KJV 1900 and no word that I've highlighted has ever had a definition after I downloaded it for my tablet.

Hi Aaron - and welcome to the forums
This reminds me of a discussion a couple of years ago - see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/48495.aspx for the thread
Have you purchased Logos resources / a base package - or are you using the resources made available for free with the mobile apps?

I'm using the freesources that came with the app, but when I first downloaded for my phone, it gave me Strong's definitions for Hebrew and Greek words, but now it doesn't work for either my phone or tablet. And I am connected, I understand that non-purchased resources won't work offline due to publisher restrictions.

Unless you have a base package not every Bible will show definitions or Strong's numbers for words. Have you tried some of the other Bibles in your account to see if Strong's numbers and definitions appear?

As far as I've tried, there are no definitions for any of the Bibles.

What happens if you open the ESV to Matthew 1:2, highlight "father", tap Info and then Bible Word Study - does it show any definitions?

That worked, oddly enough. But from Easton's Definitions, not Strong's.

To my knowledge, Strong's definitions have never appeared in the Bible Word Study Definition panel.
Doing word lookups in different Bibles will have different results for accounts with few resources and no base package. For example, in Genesis 1:1 the word "heaven(s)" will show the following:
ESV: missing pop-up dialog content, no Strong's number; Bible Word Study includes Easton's and Nave's definitions.
NASB: pop-up dialog includes the Strong's number and Definition; BIble Word Study includes Easton's and Nave's definitions.
KJV 1900: pop-up dialog includes Strong's number, MSS, Lemma and Morph; Bible Word Study is missing definitions.0 -
Yeah but the KJV, which is my primary, has none. That's kind of a bummer. Lol

None as in no definitions, that is.
