Summary: trying to upgrade old Logos 2 CD to Logos 5. I was given the disk.
You may need to call or email Logos to ask about this. A path you could try would be to find Libronix installation files and upgrade first from 2.0 to Libronix. When you register for an account, it may register the product under that account. Then you may be able to install Logos 5 and have the newest version downloaded automatically once you sign in.
There is one important condition however: the product must still be offered by Logos.
If there is no printed serial number with it you may have a problem.
You might try calling Customer Service and see if they can help you out with the "update" of the license file.
Barring that you can do it yourself I think using a longer method:
Also just a note on nomenclature for the sake of clarity: Logos 2 was the program name, Logos 3 ran on the Libronix platform and gained the name Libronix from it. Since version 4, and now 5 it is just plain "Logos" as in Logos 5. Here on the forums we often shorten these to L1, L2, L3, L4, and L5. :-)
Ah, yes - I should have known the Libronix thing. I never used the Libronix software until I started trying to figure out this situation. I received the Logos 2 commentary disk, and I have actually already tried the steps with Logos 3/Libronix, but I am having the same problem many other people are having with syncing. It won't synchronize. I guess contacting Logos is the best option. Hopefully we can get it sorted out.
Let us know how it turns out. :-)
