Recent purchases not showing up on iPad Library
I obtained close to 500 new resources through upgrades this week. I am not able to find many of these on my iPad Logos app Library.
I checked some of the missing to see if they were available for the iOS app and all were.
I can 'force' a resource to show up by using the mobile app checkbox in my Logos 5 Library listing. It forces a download of those resources. However no similar resources appear. For example, the works of A. W. Tozer, the Lexham Bible Guides, and a number of B&H books do not show up even though I checked that they are mobile available and could force a download of one or more of each of these.
I've closed and reopened the Logos app, and shut down and restarted my iPad to no avail. There are still hundreds of resources missing from my iPad Library.
Something's amiss. Any suggestions besides trying to reinstall the app?

You are not alone, Mark. I purchased the Baptist Gold package and none of the new resources are in my Ipad.

I noticed that after I Get new resources, if I go into the Library on my iPad, and I swipe down, I see it do some sort of Library rebuilding - it's very quick, although it might take 3-4 seconds to start. Then it shows total number of resources. I am not completely sure what it is doing although I have read in the past it is doing some sort of indexing to support the real indexing on the servers. Might it be worth trying that, swipe down in the Library, and see if they appear?
I just checked, I purchased the Heidelberg catechism collection this week and they are there.
PS - I am using the Verbum iPad app.

I notified Logos and they responded suggesting I could re-install the app.
That seems to be the standard answer to every iOS problem. The app is into version 4 and it ought to be mature by this point. I don't think of only being able to reinstall an app to fix a problem as evidence that a piece of software is mature. It ought to be a bit more robust.
I shall hope for a better response from Logos.

Mark,
Please send us your Support Info (in the Help menu) and Cc: kevin dot byford at logos dot com . We'll take a look at your logs and try to determine the cause.
Among your recent purchases are there certain titles in a group sold together (say a 3 volume set) that appear while others don't - say, volumes 1 and 3 appear but not volume 2?

try the command "rebuild index" from the home page.
I expect the rebuild command will work but I was hoping to get more information first... Similar to a reinstall, rebuild index completely overwrites the problematic data we need to find the root cause.

Kevin - I haven't used the command in a while... Is there a visible sign that the command is working? What should someone expect to see? How long do they need to wait at the home page?
The only visible sign "rebuild index" is running would be the iOS progress donut shown in the status bar (top left), but this assumes something else isn't invoking that control.
Ideally there should be no need for this command - it's a workaround.

Thanks, Kevin. I sent the info and copied you. Also answered the question in that email.

The problem appears to be solved. I did type rebuild index into the home page. Thanks for your help.

How do you do that on the iPhone/iPad?

I typed it into the homepage and hit enter. I did not see the hour glass (top left corner) or receive any visual confirmation that the command worked, except that I was able to access and download books after typing this command.

there is only one place to type anything on the home page. simply type "rebuild index" and go.
I reinstalled the app and did the rebuild index. It gave me the same number of resources, but now Guzik and the others show, which is good. One problem is that on the home page where the Bible on sale should show (I think it was Century Bible) the only thing showing is the "Preparing your library" message and it's been like that since last night. Is there any way to fix that or time will fix it?

I reinstalled the app and did the rebuild index.
There shouldn't have been a need to do both. The rebuild index command is a method to avoid reinstalling the app. Since you deleted the app, you also deleted all of your notes and downloaded resources. I <think> the "preparing your library" is a by product of redownloading everything... but it has been a while since I have done that.
How many downloaded resources do (did) you have? What about notes/highlights?

Notes and Highlights are there. Resource count on the iPhone is 5055 before reinstalling the app and after. The same number for before and after rebuild index. The only thing is the "Preparing your library" message.

Did the same and at first it seemed not to work. Closed and reopened the app and tried again. Navigated to Library and saw a notice "Indexing" and a progress bar. When complete I noticed that my resource count had not changed but I did have the missing resources I had looked for earlier (Tozer, B&H, Lexham Bible Guides) plus, seemingly, all the others I recently purchased. So that worked. Certainly a better work-around than re-installing the app.
I appreciate the suggestion.

Closed and reopened the app and tried again.
Well, problem fixed. By closing and opening the app, for me it meant restarting my iPhone altogether. Once it restarted, it reset the app and now the "Preparing your library" message is gone! Awesome!

These resources showed up for me the day I bought them.

5,055 downloaded resources?
Notes and Highlights are there.
How do you know that all your notes and highlights have downloaded? (One way I check is to look up the usage file size of Logos before and after an event). Is the sync wheel spinning, or just the "preparing your library"?

I know all my notes are there because I only re-installed the app on my iPhone. My iPad was having the same issue with resources not showing, but I only did the "rebuild index" command on it and it fixed the problem. Next time I'll do that. I jumped the gun on my iPhone, but in the end it also synched with my iPad and so all notes are there. Thank goodness!
