Thomas Nelson Bible Study Library

Will Logos still upgrade eBible resources, such as the Thomas Nelson Bible Study Library which ran on the Libronix platform but wasn't ever advertised as Logos? At one time they would, but I've heard mixed things now that Logos 5 is out.

I found the Thomas Nelson Bible Study Library on eBay for about $20, and I'm trying to figure out if it would do any good to purchase it.

Will they upgrade any or all eBible tools? What else will they upgrade? Thanks.

Welcome Frank to the forum. Thomas Nelson Bible Study Library will work on Logos 4-5, all you have to do is install libronix and activate it under same email you use on Logos 4-5. Or, you can call the CS and give them the serial and they will activate it for you.

Having bought it myself in the past, I recommend it as a real bargain for an introductory package.

There is one thing to be careful about. You must be reasonably sure the software has not been activated already. If it has been activated ask Logos if it is transferable. I purchased a Nelson eBible John MacArthur Lifeworks off eBay and was unable to register it because it had already been activated.

I had a situation where I purchased a Libronix resource from a seller on Amazon and when Logos emailed the registered owner they refused to authorize the transfer and claimed that they had no idea how I came to possess the DVD. I was able to get my money back from the seller, but the situation served to remind me to be extra diligent in determining the condition of the product. I also would only recommend buying non-activated Libronix resources.

While I can't remember any issues with activating Libronix CDs, it is surely advisable to buy only non-activated ones - if it had been activated, a transfer of ownership needs to take place through Logos Customer Service, which will require consent of the currently registered owner plus a fee of $20. I can't imagine the owner of an activated copy selling for "about $20", paying eBay fee, shipping the CD-ROM and then eat the $20 transfer fee - thus if the copy was activated, the buyer will end up with additional $20 and all the hassle.

Other than that, activating a new Libronix CD-ROM to your account is very easy since Logos built the www.logos.com/redeem page: you just insert the product key from the CD-ROM package and are fine, no need to call CS or install Libronix for that.
