Just downloaded Logos bible software version 5 (5.2.2.1512) and tried running it on windows xp sp3.
But is says : Logos setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
Any help ?
Thanks
Kevin
Windows XP is not supported any longer. Logos 4 is as high as you can go with Logos.

Hi Kevin - and welcome to the forums
As per https://www.logos.com/system-requirements you need Vista SP2 or higher to run the current version of Logos 5
Do you have the option of using a more recent version of Windows?
Graham
Welcome to the forums.
It is true that Logos 5 will not run on XP. However, you can still install the older Logos 4 which is unsupported but will run on XP. See https://www.logos.com/support/logos4/install

Thank you Mr, Smith,
Not sure why a little note is not placed next to Logos 5 download saying Vista Sp2 and above required.
I was in fact looking around for the system requirements but could not find them - my Bad I guess. I'm sure it was right there.
So finally I got the version 4 software to download and now it needs 10 GB of free space to install !!!!!
If I remember correctly Microsoft office doesn't need that much free space !!!!
So wasted an entire morning. Thanks Logos a very productive use of my time.
best regards
Kevin, any relationship to Elias Desouza from Biblical Research Institute?

All programs have design tradeoffs. Logos 4 was designed assuming that hard drive space is cheap - and it uses a LOT of it for its data. And if you look at what the desktop edition really IS under the hood, namely a sophisticated custom database, all this makes sense. The data in databases (your books) can grow to be quite large. I seem to recall I have over 9 GB of books, and then there is the custom index so Logos can find stuff in them fast which is another 5 or so...
On modern machines this is not that big of a deal. On older XP ones? It can be a HUGE deal...
For clarification: The software doesn't take up all that space... you have to add the resources, data sets, indices, etc. Those together are MUCH larger than the software engine, which is less than 200 MB.
A: Logos Base Packages download size varies depending on the package. You can estimate your download size using the approximations below.
Approximate Resource Download Size Per-Package:
Note: Logos will require more space than listed above if you own additional resources or collections. Actual download sizes will vary by user. These approximations do not include the size of the actual application files or the index.
