Have I missed something or are journals still categorized under: promised and not delivered? I went to the yearly subscription somewhere else and haven't kept up with it here.
Have seen no movement on journals or any updates I can remember- I did the same thing, the yearly subscription, will most likely keep it going.
Can you be a bit more specific about what journals? And who made the promise of updates?

Those formerly included in the TLJ Library from Galaxie Software
who made the promise of updates?

Thanks Jack - the question, and the delay, now make sense.
The "no information" thing is the killer! If we'd hear it's 6 months or 3 years, then we could decide if Logos can supply academic journals in a manner in which research can be done . . . but, it's the "no information" thing . . . So, I finally surrendered and have gone to Galaxie for a Journals subscription. Still, I really wish I could integrate my Journals into Logos! Come on, Logos . . .
Agreed...
Agreed.
We've made a lot of progress licensing journals, and are working on the text conversion now. I believe we're 30-60 days away from having lot of new content available. (I'm asking another team member to comment if they know more on the status.)
Thanks Bob- hate to ask what price range are we looking at? out right purchase or subscription?
[Y] I look forward to seeing what's made available!
We'll have a bunch of journals going up on Pre-Pub in the next week or two. There were a couple of loose ends that we're just now getting tied up. We're really close. Sorry for the delay!
Looking forward to these. [:)]
I smell sticker shock coming!
I'm going to try to purchase 1-15 next week, then look forward to what's to come. :-)
Journals are a great addition to our libraries—indispensable on many levels!
And while we are talking about journals, may I again make a push for Filología Neotestamentaria? If you are interested in matters pertaining to Greek, this journal is one to have in your library! Do not let the title mislead you, there are many, many articles in here that are in English (as well as French, German, Italian, etc.).
Also, at a price of $99 how can you go wrong? I recently subscribed to Currents in New Testament Studies and for just two volumes it cost the same as this whole set! It is normal to pay into the three digit range for no more than four volumes a year.
I look forward to having this in my library!
The high price is normal because libraries are their customers, not usually individuals. Many have a price for individuals that is much cheaper or connected to a membership like SBL. I'm sorry Cliff but there are lots of other things I can spend $100 on that will be more useful.

I understand completely. I just did not want this set to go unnoticed by those who may find it useful for their studies.

I've been in since 1/6/2012 but I've worried about how much is in English to make it worth the $99

A fair question. See here for their author index. It will give you an idea of how much is in English. It may not be a full list of authors, just the last few years or so.

Just a reminder to Logos - were looking out for these
Do we have an update on when these will be going on Pre-Pub? I haven't seen them hit yet.
Also, any chance of Vol 16 from Galaxie hitting Pre-Pub?
Thanks!
For those who have never purchased any journals, does anyone have a sense of whether they should be purchased now before the price potential goes up?
I have purchased many resources in Logos that are well worth having. But of all the purchases I have ever made, my original purchase of the Galaxie journals were the smartest and wisest purchase. They are worth more than their weight in gold. I am extremely sad to see the yearly updates have disappeared. If you do not have the journals, then in my opinion, your Logos investment is greatly handicapped. All the complaints I have read about misspellings etc in the journals....have never bothered me at all. If you do not have the journals, and you have a chance to receive them, then I would purchase them.

Sorry, there is no chance of that happening and here is what FaithLife/Logos says about that:
...future versions of Galaxie's TJL won't be available in Logos, that doesn't mean the journals included in Galaxie products won't be. We're now working directly with the journal owners and hope to offer everything in TJL—and much more. Journals are a big focus for us right now. Our plan is to still give you access to all the great journal content you've come to love from Galaxie. There's no need to move to another platform or for Galaxie to publish through Vyrso.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the info!
I would get them and get them ASAP. My only regret is I didn't get them sooner. They are required for 98% of my seminary's assignments (papers, discussions, etc., usually only Book reviews and Greek/Hebrew assignments don't require them). While I can access the Galaxie subscription for free using my college's library, the ease of searching, citing, etc., just isn't as fluid as it is in Logos. I used them in a discussion post the other week, and I already got my money's worth out of my investment using them one time. Oh how I wish I could do over some of my previous assignments before I started really using them.

Robert,
since the product page has the article titles, one can estimate this. Accross the board, English seems to be about half of the content, maybe a bit more (I checked the first eight years or so) with David Allan Black and Stanley E Porter contributing a lot.

So it is perhaps 2,400 pages for $99. For good quality material that is still worth it. Thanks NB.Mick.
