I downloaded logos but the index did not run and I don't have any books in my library..

What books or packages have you purchased - including free books?
When you logged into Logos did you use the same login information as you purchased them under?

I really have no idea.. I got the software for college, there is more than 400 hundred books. My friends worked just fine but for some reason mine wont

Here is how things are supposed to work:

You purchase resources / base package and provide/create credentials (username/email & password).
You download the software engine.
When you run the engine for the first time, you enter the credentials associated with your account.
If you entered the correct credentials, your resources will begin to download. The size and timing of the download are directly related to the size of your purchase in #1. A single book will probably take less than a minute (unless it is particularly large). A large base package can take hours to download, especially with a slow connection. You will want to make sure you have a good connection and you keep the connection active (i.e. don't shut your laptop lid while things are downloading).
After the resources have downloaded, the software engine will need to restart.
The resources will then need to index. Again, make sure not to close the laptop lid or turn off the computer. If you have a single book, this is a quick process. If you have a large base package this can take hours (especially on computers which are underpowered, low ram, and/or not using an SSD hard drive).

If something went wrong, try the following:

Press and hold the control key immediately upon starting (command key mac). Re-enter your credentials (making sure you are using the correct ones). Use the steps above to track the progress. If things still aren't going right, let us know.
