Notes and Logos 4a

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed a deterioration in the responsiveness of the note function with the 4a update? I always experienced a slight lag (particularly as I either opened up or started working in a new note file). I have notice with 4a that the lag has become markedly more pronounced to the point where Logos stops responding (even though I am still typing).
I know I can temporarily switch of the sync function and this does help (a little). I just find it curious that with 4a note taking seems to have become more twitchy, not less. I was wondering if my experience was unique or if others have encountered this with 4a? I encounter this same problem with both my laptop (which has a modest spec) and my desk top (which is top, top end).
This is not a complaint, by the way, I am enjoying Logos 4 immensely and would not consider a return to L3. I just find it intriguing...
hmmm... (and if I had a beard, I would be stroking it thoughtfully while gazing at a fixed point in the distance)

I have noticed no deterioration in speed. Even with my slow typing I am always a half a dozen characters in front of the screen display, but that isn't worse than before. Rendering in L4 is just slow across the board.

Yes, I am finding significant lag time since the update. Many more times when the program does its "Not Responding" deal as well. A new wrinkle.

Hmmmm. As with Mark, I have not noticed any increase in lag.

I do not know if this has anything to do with your lag, but you could try choosing do not show in any resources and then select only one resource for your note to show up in. If you have multiple bibles open and have this note accessible in all of them it might be causing your slowdown. Then again, maybe not.

This is one of the things that has been very bad for me in Logos 4 - the lag in notes. But I just opened the ESV and Isiah 9:1-6 which I am preaching at Christmas Eve service tonight, and typed a rather long note and for the first time it had almost NO lag at all. There is a slight hint of it, but 4.0a is a HUGE improvement for me.

do you know what's weird?
A few weeks ago when this came up i had a slight lag...minimal...
I just checked and I have none....I cannot get it to lag even if I just hold my finger down on one button and type at light speed.....

It's better for me too. I was lagging much more with SR7. Much improvement with 4a.

I got L4 for Christmas and I am Thrilled with everything that I see. I do not see any of the lag that others have reported. It opens and is available for use in about 5 seconds, and I do not see their problems with Notes at all. In fact, that was my greatest fear. I actually USE the Notes facility in Logos, and I was afraid that something had changed, judging from wht I had read in the Forum. My computer is about 2 years old, has 4 gigs of Ram, has two physical hard drives in it, and it was top end when I purchased it. (It's not so much now though, I suppose, as there are much faster ones out there). I also installed L4 to my data drive. I know some say that it doesn't make any difference, and maybe they are right, but I have much more room on my data drive than on my C:\ drive, so that's where L4 went. I guess I said all of that to say this: I'm not sure how much of it is my 2 year old computer, and how much of it is being installed on the data drive, but it works great, and I am well pleased!.

I have worked out what the problem was. I have been following a daily bible reading plan and using the notes to journal as I go along (just reached Leviticus 10 this am).
It seems that the sheer length of the notes was causing Logos to lag and stutter. I have discarded the original (and now substantial) note file and started part 2 and it seems to be running more smoothly and is fairly responsive.

Andy, I've noticed this too. It seems to work better if you have many small note entries than one big note entry in each note file. (I hope that came out right.) I'm still not too sure how usable the notes facility is right now. I think I'm back to OneNote for the time being.
