CRITICAL BUG: Please fix the failure mode for the iOS app
When the server fault happened, the app does not fail to OFFLINE, but total dead. Not useful, and once login was possible again, all offline resources and things like the cover images needed to download again. My iPhone and iPad have been downloading / rebuilding index etc for the last 30-60 mins and not done yet.
Please redesign the core app to fail gracefully to OFFLINE, not DEAD in the event of comms failures, or loss of the server infrastructures etc.

Sounds like this may be the same issue discussed here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/88716.aspx

Alabama,
No I was not forced to delete or reinstall the app. Due to the fault it dropped me and others back to the signin screen and nuked all downloaded data. Very unacceptable failure mode and I'm hoping will be accepted as a defect and improved in an app update.

Drew,
Yes a bit like that, but I did not attempt a password change. There was some kind of fault with the Logos servers or somethng as could be seen by the forum posts all,at the same time. I've yet to,notice any response to the fact there was even an issue. I was not the only one thrown back to the signin screen on my iOS apps.
I think a formal resonse accepting it as a defect is in order please.

I experienced the problem - was asked to log in to the app but was unable to do so and couldn't access resources. However, switching my iPad to airline mode allowed me to use the app and access my offline resources. When server connection was re established it didn't insist on redownloading my resources so somewhat different symptoms.
I do agree that it needs to switch to "offline" mode under these circumstances much more cleanly than we saw today.
