iOS8 vs Android?

I am currently using iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.2 and using Logos version 4.3.5.

It's time for a new Smartphone, and I am currently considering, in this order, these 4:

  1. iPhone 6 plus
  2. Sony Experia Z3
  3. LG G3
  4. Samsung Galaxy S5

All the smartphones are flagships, and all of them are strong candidates.

So, it comes down to the Operating System: iOS or Android.

Are there any differences on how Logos looks and works between them, or are they exactly the same?

How about speed? Functionality? Library? etc.

I am not sure which questions to ask, so please help out with all relevant information.

    I use Logos on Android HP tablet, iPad Air, Samsung Galaxy Mega. 

    I feel they all function the same. 

    I like the Android tablet because I can put 128gb MicroSD so I can download almost all my books for offline usage. I recommend Galaxy Tab Pro 12inch.

    iPad Air .. well .. its just like a giant iPod. Nothing special, no changes since 2008.

    I use my Galaxy Mega 6.3 phone for my daily devotional on the road sometimes.

    So I'd recommend the S5 because of speed and screen resolution.

    It is my understanding (as a non-android user) that the platforms are at "near parity." There are some differences, but I can't tell you what. I do know that they look a bit different, but have roughly the same functionality. There is no difference in the library: any book available on iOS is available on Android. As to speed: The iPhone 6 and 6+ is the only real 64 bit phone on the market.

    Since you are already in the Apple ecosystem, you would probably be most comfortable staying in that line with the i6+

    If you do switch to Android, be mindful that the Samsung s5 is on par with the i6 and the Note 3 (Note 4 to be released in Oct) is on par with i6+. I like using my stylus for highlighting on the Surface Pro, I wonder if the s-Pen that is part of the Note 4 OS will make highlighting easier than plain touch.

    Yes, having the S-Pen makes text selection & highlighting much easier than trying to use your finger. I really like the Note 3 (only owned it for about a month) and have pre-ordered the Note 4.

    I don't know if Logos ever fixed the issue on Android of being forced to the Homepage (Logos apps).  That alone was major for me (I use an iPod and iPad).

    That said, I carry around a little box with my bluetooth stylus and regular stylus.  I like to write, make diagrams, etc.  Steve Jobs was death on a stylus.  So an Android embedded stylus sounds like an attractive option.

    The other area I remain curious about is security.  Others may wish to disagree but my impression is Apple's ramping up even further to accomodate medical records, etc.  We're slowly 'ending' CC/DC purchasing unless the organization is large and has expertise for security (like Target and Home Depot).

    Having just switched yesterday from android to iOS I can tell you I have not found any significant differences in the two platforms as it relates to Logos

    I use Logos on a Galaxy Note 2 and an iPad air. There's not much difference except that in Android I can highlight a passage and send it straight to Evernote, refernced to the Logos document - I really miss this feature in iOs - any chance of it being implemented now that iOs8 allows more apps to use the 'share' menu?

    The main differences:

    iOS (only) includes Visual filters (for interlinear resources) and a Bible Text Only setting (for Bibles).

    Android (only) includes a Rich Text note editor, a Report typos feature, and single sign-in (if you use more than one of our apps).
