How can I search a Bible passage/book for questions in that passage/book? It is relatively easy to search for commands using mood in morph search. But how can I find all Yes and No and all content questions (W and H questions)? Any ideas?
Morph Search:
@BI OR @RI OR @TI OR @BC OR @CAC
Louw-Nida Search:
(<LN56.12>,<LN 56.14>,<LN 56.16>,<LN 56.38>,<LN58.30>,<LN59.5>,<LN 59.17>,<LN 67.14>,<LN 79.126-127>,<LN 83.6>,<LN84.6>,<LN 89.38>,<LN 89.65-70>,<LN 92.14-16>)
English words that are often used in questions:
if, how, however, what, whatever, where, wherever, when, whenever, which, who, whoever, whom, whomever, why
Keep Smiling [:)]
You might want to look at this thread from about 4 years ago that attempted to answer the question for just the questions Jesus asked.
This is not a simple thing to accomplish (as KS4J's approach shows), and those who discussed this back then could not come up with a way to do it. I don't believe anything has happened with the underlying data in Logos that would make this any more possible today than it was 4 years ago, and I haven't heard of a way to do it.
Similar to KS4J but lacking his detail is the Visual Filter submitted by John Fallahee in his marvy webinar on Louw Nida it can be found in the Faithlife Group LearnLogos.com in the Documents section, you will of course have to join the group to gain access it is labeled 0- Louw Nida 5W's & H.
Thank you all!
the Morph and LN search seem to be accurate enough for what I want to do. Although I might experiment doing a syntax search on syntactic force having to do with interrogation. This might be a bit more accurate than the morph search.
Mark, in the thread about Christ's questions you made a comment: "For example, The Lexham Causal Outlines of the Greek NT contains markers for questions which are searchable in Basic search as surface text". Can you elaborate on this a bit? How do you search these markers?
