Order of Library Search

How does the Library Search work with regard to the order of the results? Sometimes it is ordered by Rank, sometimes by Title. I usually like Rank, as it's pretty accurate, so I click on rank to resort it, hoping it will stay that way. But at some point a search will come up with results ordered by Titles. Not every time mind you, just some times.

I am confused as to how this works, if anyone could enlighten me I would be grateful!

    It seems to default to Title but remains at last setting if the pane remains open. I may be wrong.

    I'm happy to be figuring some of this out...last night I used tag and tagged all my dictionaries as Dict and all my Illustration books as Illus and all my counseling books as Coun.  Now when I want to search I can get a selection of Mytags for each one...so if I want an illustration for Rapture I can search in Mytag Illus...I love it...works great....
