Trouble downloading resources to iPhone

I'm having trouble downloading resources to Logos for iPhone, running iOS 8.0.2 and Logos 4.3.52446. The phone is a 5s / 32GB. It has plenty of free space and in all other respects is running fine.

It simply times out, and comes up with a dialog saying "Resource Download. Unable to download <name of resource>. OK"

I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling but with no resolution.

I have the same version of Logos running on an iPad with iOS 8.0.2 - this device has no such problems.

Anyone out there having this experience? Is there a fix?

Is this message automatically appearing, or do you have to manually ask the app to try and download?

When I try to download a resource to the device, so that it can be viewed offline, after a couple of minutes of 'Downloading' the dialog with the error message appears

I can download resources to my iPad using the same connection. Have tried iPhone on other connections. iPhone is otherwise fine for connectivity. Connection is cable 100/40.

Have tried lots of resources - ESV, NIV, NSAB, New Bible Commentary, BDAG.

Something is rotten in the State of Denmark ...

Can you compare the file size of the app on each device? Are they the same?
