I now also seem to recall that it dropped considerably once I purchased L5 Platinum. I'm trying to figure out the best order in which to buy the packages I want. I'm thinking of getting either Standard Platinum or Baptist Platinum first, and then getting others ( whichever Platinum doesn't go first, BL, Chaplain's, and Reformed Silver) afterward. I'm going to have to run five separate transactions since Faithlife doesn't yet have the ability to account for duplicate resources in packages you purchase at the same time. Since the FAQ says this ability is months away, I'm afraid I'm going to become a thorn in the side of Customer Service over the next month.

Firstly, bigger packages generally have a lower cost per title.

However, honestly, your best bet is going to be to email sales (I use Rusty.Davidson@faithlife.com ). They can test out different scenarios and figure out which one is best for you. Rusty is great about getting back to you. He is also a traveling Presenter, which means sometimes he's working odd hours (such as the middle of the night) and has always gotten back to me quickly. Tell him Ken sent you. At the very least it makes him smile

Yea, pricing seems way off for that particular package. I was getting ready to spring $225 for the Logos 5 Biblical Languages upgrade, and now all of a sudden the same upgrade would cost $525 and have a few less resources than the L5 version was going to get me (no more Greek Audio Bible, and no more NA28). Obviously it would also have the new L6 features, some of which look very nice, but they aren't worth $300 (nor could I afford it if they were).

Disappointing. It looks like I'm sticking with my L4 Platinum package for another year at least.

So I purchased Standard Platinum, Baptist Platinum, Chaplain's Library and Reformed Silver this evening. Sadly, the theory that the price of Biblical Languages would decrease with a base package purchase proved incorrect. The pricing on Biblical Languages is still listed at $525 for me, despite the fact that I own every single resource and dataset except for the Moulton-Howard-Turner Greek Grammar Collection (my individual price is $159.95). My sales rep said he would make a note of that to check on the reason it isn't showing dynamic pricing. I've been wanting Moulton for awhile, but not for $525. :-)

Does the website show that you own the BL package when you go to purchase it? I know that collections will show that you own the entire resource even if you purchase the individual components separately, but I am not sure about base packages.

That's correct. Biblical Languages in Logos 6 is a different kind of product, intended for students looking for their first-time base package (if they're particularly drawn to languages rather than theology or ministry). For anyone looking to upgrade from an L4 Original Languages or L5 Biblical Languages, our Sales department is equipped to give some awesome custom academic options.

I would be amiss to not point out our denominational or standard-track base package upgrades and crossgrades. And abondservant is right, if you own Portfolio L6, you've got everything Biblical Languages has.

Thanks Brandon. I however question the logic of limiting this to first-time student purchasers. I became (and still currently am) a seminary student six years after I first purchased L3 Scholars Gold. Like me, if someone becomes a seminary student after they've invested in Logos, they will be left out in the cold, in a manner of speaking. I already owned L5 Biblical Languages and there is only one resource in the current Biblical Languages package that I don't own, so I can find another means of getting that resource. This has the potential to fly in the face of the stated Logos policy that someone will never have to pay for a resource twice...at least if a customer is not aware of the issue. Perhaps Logos should note this new policy on the product page and direct current Logos owners to seek out a different path to securing the resources.

I'm in a very similar position. I own L5 Gold, and have recently started taking seminary classes. I anticipate starting Greek early next year. If dynamic pricing were available for the Biblical Languages base package, I would very likely purchase it in January. But without dynamic pricing, it makes no sense for me to do that.

Email Rusty Davidson. He's a sales guy, and he's a busy man, but if you tell him I sent you, he will help. Its one of those things thats kind of a hassle for a sales person to do, but they will. Just do him a favor and next time you buy something especially if its a base package go through him.
