Upgrades vs Crossgrades
I'm confused on the difference in the two.
It sounds like if you upgrade you get everything in the crossgrade.
But my crossgrade is more expensive than the upgrade (basic or Bronze).
So, I'm curious if I get more out of the crossgrade compared to the upgrade.
Confused ...
Thanks,
Brandon

Crossgrade may give you more, depending on which one you buy.
In order to get all of the features etc included in the big cross grade in an upgrade, you'll need to get a gold package or above.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

If you click on the tab at the bottom that says Logos 6 (Standard)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ByXIGWq4UmnLeiGsoq3PeCJKanlJBYAVQWdeoqD9SOc/edit#gid=332602459
You can compare what resources (and features aka datasets) each crossgrade vs the standard upgrades comes with.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

Great question, Brandon! Crossgrade options give you new tools, datasets, and media, but don't include any new books. So if you'd like to keep your current library, but get new tools, Crossgrade's the way to go. With Logos 6, we offer three Crossgrade options:
1. Core Crossgrade: get almost all of Logos 6's tools, datasets, and media
2. Feature Crossgrade: get all of Logos 6's tools, datasets, and media
3. Extended Crossgrade: get all of Logos 6's tools, datasets, and media, plus a small collection of new books worth $1,300 if purchased separately.
Upgrades include new tools, datasets, and media, plus new libraries (if you'd like new resources and new tools, this is for you!).

Sherri,
Thanks for the reply!
Actually abondservant's answer was more what I was looking for (thanks abondservant!).
My question was more about would the Starter or Bronze package give me all the tools I get from the Feature Crossgrade. It sounded like it did, or at least was vague. But that Google document helped me see that wasn't the case. The Gold upgrade would get you the closest (but not equal) to the Feature Crossgrade.
Thanks!

That google docs chart you put together is amazing. Thank you for your work!

This is the first time I understand this! Thanks. I just purchased my upgrade. Is it too late to cross? What is the cost of the basic cross (almost all the tools) vs. the full cross?

The cost depends on what resources you already have.
It is not too late, you can contact sales and return the upgrade OR addon the crossgrade if you want to keep the resources from the upgrade.

What I am wrestling with is I'd like to step up to the next package in Logos 6, but can't commit to that kind of cost until sometime mid-2015.
My second choice is to get an extended crossgrade, but if I do that do I lose the 15% discount should I later step up in package type ... and does the dynamic pricing rubric penalize me for a two-step "upgrade" like it did in earlier versions (i.e., L4 to L5)?

Ward - near as I can tell thats a no to both.
I've kept my 15% discount, and it would seem, will do so until the end of the promotional period.
Secondly, they seem to have adjusted their pricing model so that you don't get penalized. I've jumped up within families a few times already and the price goes down commensurate with the cost of the smaller package you purchase. Can't promise its penny for penny, but its not far from dollar for dollar.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

If you lose 15% on a large package it is quite substantial. So it is better to buy the large package with the discount and also buy it first. If you can get on a payment plan you can calculate if you will stay within the 15% discount. Talk it over with Sales

For me the crossgrade made the most sense, as I have the books I want, and now with the extended crossgrade I got the tools. So, I am happy.

That is the route I took as well. I want more books but just didn't have the funds.

Thank you for the link to the spreadsheet! I am looking at upgrading but with so many choices it has been a bit difficult to decide. I base many of my choices on authorship so that inclusion is certainly appreciated. Thanks for the work! It will be a great help.

Thanks for your thoughts.
Although it may cost me $600 in discounts from making the full purchase initially, I went ahead and just got the extended crossgrade.
The good news is it fit within the spare margin I've still got on my SSD.
If the deals are still running this summer, perhaps I'll get the package upgrade I wanted then.
