Installed fine but new resources have not downloaded on MacBook Pro

After being offered a good discount on Logos 6 Reformed Diamond (I had upgraded L5 to Reformed Diamond a couple of months ago), I installed L6 late yesterday afternoon. Everything seemed to go well without any issues, except when I checked my library I saw that my number of resources had not changed.

I am using a mid-2012 MacBook Pro with Yosemite OS. I've closed L6 and reopened it, as well as entered "Update Resources" and "Update Now" but to no avail.

Perhaps there's something obvious that I have missed. Any thoughts?

If Update Resources did not work I would contact Logos customer service.

I discovered when I called customer service that late yesterday afternoon, when I too bought an upgrade, the servers crashed such that the transaction went through but the unlocking did not. I called customer service and they unlocked my package for me, and the upload immediately started. You might want to ask them to check for that.

I suspect that's what happened to me, Don. I had wondered about possible server issues and also wondered why the "New to You" feature on the website had not changed after I had installed the new version. The word "unlock," however, didn't seem to make it into my mind! I'll give them a call when they get up and running for the morning out there.

The issue you are describing is different than what I experienced... but you might have the same "joy" once you get your current issue addressed. There is a known issue with Yosemite which causes slow downloads and overheating. If you have troubles, see this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/93214.aspx

I saw that thread. I don't have any problems with slow downs or overheating--just L6 not acknowledging that there are additional resources to download. L6 installed without a hitch and went through a couple of episodes downloading additional resources, as well as both service packs. I checked with Logos and it was confirmed that everything is unlocked. CS sent me a like to Apple dealing with the WiFi issues in Yosemite, but I don't really see how that affects me. I tried a couple of suggestions but to no avail.

I've wondered about uninstalling and reinstalling. Any thoughts?

I would not do that.

Did you try using an ethernet connection? Did you restart your computer?

I don't have an ethernet adapter for my MBP.

I am hesitant to give you more explicit advice... I wonder if you need to delete a file which assists with downloads. Can you enable and post logs? See my signature line for instructions. Once you have ensured logging is enabled:

start up logos
use the command: update now (allow command to finish running)
use the command: update resources (allow command to finish running)
close logos
grab logs and attach them to a post in this thread using the paperclip icon.

How large was it? If it is very large, you might want to just unzip it and upload the logos.log file.

Does this tell you anything, Alabama? I uploaded the LogosError.log from a few minutes ago. I never got an error, but in one of the reboots, Logos checked for updates and discovered the 6.0 SR-3 and installed it. Everything seemed fine, and yet it seems there are some errors according to this log.

I have no idea what any of this this means. I'm just grasping, trying to find anything that will make sense of the aggravation.

A message on Logos 6 informs me "Downloading 1.04 GB of updates." Could this be the long-awaited resources? Time will tell.

Edit: Well, time is telling. Logos has just started indexing after the large update, but a quick check of the library revealed new resources that I had not received. It looks as though the new resources have been downloaded. Is this the result of SR-3?

Whatever the reason, hopefully all is now well.
