Recently I have purchased or received freebies or have had updates to the L6 engine or library. In L5, the homepage gave the option to see what was updated or added. I do not see this feature in L6. Has it been moved to another location?
I see the new area on the top right where it says resources updated, but it only gives the resource that was updated today. What about the resources that were added in over the last 7 days, for example?

It is URH corner. Look for xx Resources Updated. There is a drop down listing.
It's still on the homepage, but it's not mixed in with the other content items anymore:
You can click on the update messages to see the details.
The "X" next to the the update notification will clear it from the home page.
What about the resources that were added in over the last 7 days, for example?
Not available. You can still sort your library by Last Updated. (That will, of course, only show updated resources.)

I am not happy with the Logos 6 way of displaying new/updated resources. The Logos 5 way of posting each group of new/updated resources was much more helpful. The way it is, once the you update or add a new resource, the previous list disappears forever.

Well not entirely - the last update list remains in the Library - at least until the resource is updated again.
I don't recall being able to access update lists from more than a few days previous in L5 but my memory ain't what it used to be.

I am not sure how many days it could be found, but it would gradually get pushed farther and farther within the content of the HP and then go away. I don't think it was visible for more than a few (maybe 5??) days.
I like the new way because I can see what was updated and then delete it from the HP. If I want to view the information later I can just go to the library.
Not if it's a database.
If I get 3 downloads in a row (as all too frequently happens), I'll never remember (or care) to go to the homepage after each one. I'll go there after the last, and then I'll go to the Library, and I'll never know that some databases were updated as well.

I have not tested it so I could be wrong. But if you get 3 downloads in a row I think the resources updated in all three will show if you have not deleted the previous notification. I don't think they overwrite one another.
Let's hope.
Thanks all for the replies. I also do not like this new way, but am glad to have it pointed out to me. I cannot now determine the difference between what was updated in the Library and what was added as a new resource. I have been offline for a few days and today when I got back on line, I see a book added to the library today from that drop down list Mark talked about. But other resources purchased in the last few days do not show. For that, I have to now go to the library and see what was updated yesterday....and the list of updated resources is huge. Tucked in there somewhere may be a book I purchased but I cannot tell the difference. So I really really do not like this new way. Why cant the drop down list show resources added in the last 7 days? And if 300 resources are updated, will that drop down list show 300 drop down items?
This is true. I made three separate purchases and made sure to download between each one. They are all together in the same list.
Here's my update list for the second and third downloads:
Not sure what would happen if they were download on multiple days, as I had cleared my old ones already.
Deleted—found a problem.
I came home around midnight yesterday and updated 1.5 gb or so. I went to bed and this morning there was another update. The only resource showing that was updated today was the one resource that was updated today. The huge list of updated from yesterday...I never had the chance to see them show up in the dropdown list. For that, i now have to go to the library. Some of those resources from yesterday were new and most were simply updated resources. I cannot tell nor know what is what.

In this respect there is no "new way". The old homepage would also have shown you all downloaded resources, whether new or updated, so you would have had exactly the same problem there.
This is one reason many of us make sure to always add some kind of rating or tag to all resources. That way new resources will always be the only ones unrated or untagged.
So I just got the freebie, "By Grace alone..." and it shows in the update resource drop down. And another resource shows that was piggybacked I guess on this update. But the first book I received TODAY, no longer is listed. That means:
1. If you get 3 separate updates in one day, only the last update will show in the drop down list

Well, my first tests above showed seemed to show one thing.
But I just updated again, and where the first three updates were additive, this one cleared out the previous ones:
This function is flaky. It does need to show all the updates done over time (whether it's one day or 7). Currently, I have to conclude that it's not trustworthy.
This feature clearly needs more development, but I do like the principle behind it.

I can confirm the same behaviour.
I downloaded 160+ resources and then, separately, a free offering from Logos. The free offering overwrote the 160+ resources.
Well enough of us have confirmed the behavior. Can we get a logos rep to comment? It really would be nice especially to have a listing of what was added to our libraries and have that listing remain for a few days. It is also nice to know what was updated, but that is easier to accept by looking at the library tag. What is new to us should be listed in the drop down and remain there for a period of days or until the list reaches a maximum size or x resources

I think you'd find that most people's priority would be the opposite. Admittedly, this huge update download at the same time as the L6 launch has created a bit of a mess in many people's Last Updated columns. Yet, in normal cases people don't wonder what is new; they know what they've bought. It's when they get an update they haven't bought that they come running to the forums asking how they can find out what it is.

Well I have no scientific evidence to confirm or deny what you say. But it is important to me.
And since the feature was available in L5, it certainly would not take more than a few minutes to restore it back in L6.

What exactly would they need to do to restore it? How much time would it take and how would affect the other code? I don't know and I suspect you do not know either.
I do know the changes in the Homepage are a result of a complete rewrite of that feature. There were a number of reasons for this rewrite and probably the most significant for many users is the increased speed in loading and refreshing the homepage.
I would not presume to know how easy or difficult it might be to make the updated resources part of the new homepage in the same way it was in L5.
Let me just add that there was no resource update on the home page during early beta testing and because of testers' requests the information was restored in the form you now see. I personally liked the old way of seeing the information and wouldn't mind seeing it return, but one reason it wasn't put on the home page contents even then may have to do with some design or coding issues. Faithlife could weigh in on this.
Thank you FredC and Mark for your input. I would like to see Faithlife weigh in on this
I decided to take fgh's advice earlier in this thread and make sure that everything is tagged (so now I have 3000+ resources with the ironic tag: UNTAGGED). No matter where the new resources are listed on the homepage, this would be the only way to distinguish between updated resources and new resources. I just wish I had it in place last Monday when I got the "massive update" and upgraded to Logos 6 Gold.
I'd like to be able to find out what new resources I got when I upgraded to Logos 6. Is there a way to do that?
You can sort your library by "updated". As long as you didn't have other purchases or updates on the same day, you will see everything that was added to your library that day.
NOTE: this will show you all of your book resources... it would show you things like datasets.
I had a thought. If you tag your resources, downloading the collection "document" from the faithlife group Logos set up to give out such things might just do the trick. Old resources, if they were tagged, will make themselves apparent right away. if they aren't tagged sorting by the date they were last updated will help you make the distinction. Thanks for your help. I tried that but there were other updates the same day. Just trying to figure out which ones were new. I also emailed Logos to see if they could simply email it to me.
