Works of the Venerable Bede (3 vols.) retailing like a pre-pub price.

Was browsing products today and ran across this “Free Book”

So I purchased it. I read on and found that it is part of a 3 Vol. set of books from the Works of the Venreable Bede.

I decided not to go for the $59.95 sticker though. Then what do you know, on the products page I see another one of the titles from the 3 vol set.

And viola “I’m in”. So why not give the last book of the 3 vol. set a try, maybe “dynamic pricing” will be in play.

And there you have it, the $59.95 3 Vol. set is only $10.95 purchased separately. Soo cool.

Can someone do some marketing. Why would I want this resource? I know it is cheap, but many things are cheap, I try to select the good cheap stuff... :P

type: Open Factbook To Bede and you can see a few things about the "venerable bede". A long ago monk who translated some Latin and Greek writings. According to the linked article from 131 Christians everyone should know, "Bede completed some 40 works in his busy life, none more important than History of the English Church and Its People. Bede ranks not only as the first English historian, but also one of the best.

This makes his works of historical and translational value at the least.

You actually beat me to the marketing (even though I am not trying to market anything).

As we all know, not everything in Logos' library of Ebooks is for everyone...but I think that having an understanding of the history of the rise of Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England is important especially to those of us living in America, because the founding fathers of America hailed from that nation. Not only that but many others nations throughout the world were colonized by England as well.

IMO the historical value alone is worth the small $$$ investment.
