How do I change the default word processor from Microsoft Word to WordPerfect?
I assume you're talking about the default in the Copy Bible Verse module. Correct?
I haven't been able to make it remember WordPerfect either. But since I paste manually anyway, it's not an issue for me.
I just changed the Copy Bible Verses (CBV) tool to use WordPerfect, copied a verse and pasted it into Notepad (I don't have WP), and the next time I went in to CBV, WordPerfect was still there, even after closing the program. Do you perhaps have another computer with Logos 4 installed that uses Microsoft Word and is synching to this computer?
Melissa
Melissa,
I just discovered that if I invoke CBV from CTRL-ALT-B or from Tools>Copy Bible Verse it defaults to my last selection. However, if I invoke it from a short-cut on the short-cut bar, it always defaults to MS Word. I even tried deleting the short-cut and putting on a fresh one. (I created the short-cut by dragging from the tools menu to the short-cut bar.)
I had been using the short-cut exclusively until I saw what you were getting.
Anyway, looks like a bug. Can you reproduce this and report it?
I just now saw this post as the RSS feed sometimes takes forever to get here.
I experimented with Melissa's idea and it works fine here for both Word and WordPerfect-X4. The problem is that if one uses Word and hits the copy-paste option that pops up, then Word will automatically open. There is no similar option for WordPerfect-X4. WP has to be open already and then hit the PASTE function or simply do a shift-insert...(CTRL+V has always seemed awkward to me). And the options of how to paste are actually very cool whether for Word or WP.
Melissa help me to find out to change the default word processor go to CBV in the tools and select the preferred word procesor. When I changed this setting it worked fine. Thank you for your help. God bless. God is so good.
Thank you. I went to CBV in tools and changed the default word processor to WordPerfect and it works fine. This is what I wanted. The reason WordPerfect still there when you went out of Logos 4 and came back it is that you changed the default setting to WordPerfect. Simple go back and change it back to Microsoft Word when you want to use it. I do not use Word so I wanted WordPerfect. Thank you so much for your help. God bless.
I have changed the default setting to WordPerfect but I am still having one problem. When I copy from the Home page or Bible verses they are coming into WordPerfect fine, even with foot notes. However, if I go to a commentary I cannot copy and paste this information into WordPerfect with or without footnotes [preferred]. This is even after changing the default in CBV. I have tried using the copy command in Logos 4 and manually [ctrl+c] but neither work. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks. God bless.

Regardless of the settings in the CBV, I can only paste into WP directly (CTRL-C, or Right-Click>Copy) from L4 by pasting as unformatted text (Edit>Paste Special>Paste, Unformatted Text). I assigned this to a key to make it easier (ALT-V).
EDIT: I almost always paste unformatted from Logos (3&4) anyway, since regular pasting always changes the font and font size, and inserts hordes of unnecessary codes into the document. I find it easier to add formatting when necessary, than delete all the unnecessary formatting. Hence the value of assigning "paste unformatted" to a key combination.

I can reproduce this and will report it.
Update: This will be fixed in 4.0b.
Thanks,Melissa
