Now I feel like I can't buy another Bible commentary ever;)
You could add 333 more!
Wow, thats a lot. I am just getting use to all these "tools".
I'm not sure I will ever have enough commentaries
I remember thinking how blessed I was to have 1, then 2 and finally 3. Now at 1446 in Logos alone...well, times have changed. And I am thankful.
Now I feel like I can't buy another Bible commentary ever;) You could add 333 more!
Does this mean that if your are a Millennialist you have to stop at a literal "1000" commentaries? Being Amill 1000 is an indefinitely large number of commentaries! [:D]

Now you know we are not supposed to discuss theology here, Kieth! [H]
I didn't stop at 1,000 (Sigh). But that would be a Biblically perfect number.

Would have to be amill since 777 + 333 != 1000
;-)
you guys are all bad with math!
777+333=1110
but who is counting [:P]

lol, good catch!
The OP is counting! He can't afford to mess up a numerically perfect number of commentaries.
Still, the next perfect number is 777+333 so I say he has some buying room left.
No, the next perfect number is 10x10x10 = 1000, which is 777 + 223, so he only has to buy 223 more.
I guess those of us with 1500+ commentaries have to wait till 7,777 to have a complete library?
nope, it is 7^7=823543 - "Everything and the Kitchen Sink" Base Package

Actually, correction. "In number theory, a perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its proper positive divisors, that is, the sum of its positive divisors excluding the number itself." (Wikipedia)
According to this list of perfect numbers, the next perfect number greater than 777 is 8128. That would be a very reasonable sized library. But the next perfect number after that is 33,550,336. Not in our lifetimes. Logos would have to create a digital editions of every single book published in the United States each year for a span of 100 years to be able to rack up that many books in its catalog. (Based on data from UNESCO.) I'm satisfied with having an imperfect library (14,656 unhidden resources at last count).
I can see Bob calculating the upgrade prices.
Rosie, he isn't looking to buy a minimum number. He just wants to keep a perfect number of commentaries. So, yes, he could stop at 1000, but he can go to 1110. That's 110 more commentaries and he'll still have a perfect library. I'm just trying to help the poor guy out! (Is 3333 a perfect number?)

Well this is a Bible study software forum so I don't care a wit for a mathematical perfect number. I am looking for a divinely perfect number. I hope the OP was doing the same.
I'm not that into math so for me it was the biblical symbolism... In reality there are other commentaries that interest me but I do find its a rare commentary that is theologically switched on.
Too many skip over big issues eg. when God commands killing. Quite a few commentators appear to be scared of addressing the issue, unaware of the difficulties, or maybe they are sociopaths? Also, many commentators only repeat others, or show a poor understanding of biblical languages.
I don't mean to be harsh, there are some real gems too... When I got started I thought I could choose a good series. Now I feel it's about hunting for a good commentary for each book of the bible. Or hunting through the many for interesting ideas. This is one benefit of community ratings etc. also a benefit of logos for rapid research. And a benefit of logos pricing!
John how did you check the total number of commentaries? did you search the library for type comm or something else?
In your Library window, you can search for- type:"Bible Commentary"
