Duplicate Resources

Hello...I have resources from one of the other leading Bible software companies. I'm just curious to get feedback from others if they've purchased resources they already own on another platform. If so, what reason you decided to spend the money for somerhing you already own.

I've bought CDs of albums that I already owned on vinyl. New platform means I switched pretty much 100% to using it and felt it was reasonable to repurchase things for the new platform. I had BibleWorks or some old DOS program before switching to Logos in around 1992. I certainly did buy over again all of the stuff I had on that (but it was only a few books back then, maybe the KJV and NIV and one bible dictionary and not much more). I just decided Logos was going to be my digital theological book platform going forward and that was it.

Pretty much the same as Rosie: actually using it.

Logos is the only bible software I open on a regular basis, so what use are resources buried in my WordSearch9 (which I still run occasionally to look up something in a resource I know I have over there) or an old versions of Quickverse (which I think doesn't even load anymore - and there's no free upgrade path with either of these, as is with Logos). Such resources are less available to me than the paper books on my shelf. I haven't replicated all of the stuff, but I regret the dollars spent into the other platforms.

I have 500 or so books in WordSearch. I hope to get all of them on Logos eventually, but there are so many other logos books I want, that might be a while.

Yellow- I have the current pre-pub of Preachers Outline Study Bible and its associated products in paper and WordSearch, so now in Logos- so it looks like I will be buying it again for a third- "AND" final time.

Very disappointed with Leadership Ministries they do not offer a discount to previous owners, but such is life.

"Man up" as my Dad would say- "this will not be the last disappointment you'll experience," man was he ever so right- by the way I was 12 (and she was the prettiest little thing on my street) when he told me that for the first time.

I'm sure other people have brought this up, but it would be really nice if the publisher helped in offering a discount to customers who already own a resource on another platform. This way the platform owners would still be able to be compensated for their tagging, but the customers doesn't get hit so hard for something that they already own.

Just my 2 cents.
