Over the last three weeks, each time I've tried to open Logos 5 in Windows 8, the Logos Logo pops up, but the screen never loads. I've tried restarting the computer, and opening while holding "CNTRL", but nothing is working.
Hi Nicholas - and welcome to the forums
Sorry to hear you are having problems
We would need to see some diagnostic logs as outlined at https://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging
From that article:
"To turn on logging for one session, hold down the CTRL key as you start Logos and then signin (this will open to a blank layout with Logos 6).The log files are written to Documents\Logos Log Files or Documents\Verbum Log Files (for Verbum)."
Documents\Logos Log Files
Documents\Verbum Log Files
So, as you are holding down the Ctrl key you should have the logs we need.
Please upload them to the forum - using the paperclip icon - after an unsuccessful start attempt
Graham
8203.LogosCrash.txt
1731.LogosError.log
These two both came up - thanks.
I think this probably means you need to open the Windows Control Panel, find Logos in the list of applications and Repair it.
But it would be good to get views of people who understand these logs better than I do first!
I,m having the same problem. very frustrating. can't open it at all. Tried repairing it int windows control panel but problem remains.
Please give me some suggestions to fix it.
Are You using a 64-bit Windows operative system and have Logos 6 or Verbum 6 installed on the same machine as well?
Hi Ivan - and welcome to the forums
Please start a separate thread and provide as many details as you can
Please also enable diagnostic logging and upload logs after a failed start attempt as per https://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging
Nicholas
