Bible search
I am new to the Logos app and I am trying to search for a particular verse. I put two words in the search box, for example "Aaron death". Only not in quotation marks and the results were none. Because I am switching from Olive Tree I went to my Olive Tree app and did the same and I get the verse I am looking for. What am I doing wrong?

My problem is I was not connected to wi-if. Thanks for your help! God bless.

That would do it.
Some basic searching works when offline but online searches are much richer - the search actually takes place on Logos servers and the results are reported back to the app

So now I am confused. if a simple two word combination will not return a verse that contains those two words unless the device is online, then how can you say it only does basic searching. That's not even basic. The cheapest and least functional apps out there will do that much. i thought I just didn't understand IOS searching and today I decided I would take the time to figure it out only to discover that it is pretty much non-functional without a connection. I don't understand why it cannot adequately do a simple verse search of bibles that reside on the device. Am I missing something?
Like most, I have a significant investment in my Logos desktop collection. Why do I have to pay for an additional app and additional bibles (I use Pocket Bible) just for my offline concordance type searches? There is so much to love about this app, but this is a major frustration.

I guess it all comes down to definition. When offline it will search for single words and it will search for strings so it will find two (or more) adjacent words. What it won't do is find words where there are other words in between.

The way in which Logos software searches for separated words within a verse is by using the AND operator (and it is assumed if not specified). And it looks as though this hasn't been built into the search engine within the app itself but it is available on the backend servers used when the device is online.
There is so much to love about this app, but this is a major frustration.
I agree it would be good if the offline search capability in the app were enhanced but, I am afraid, this is how it works at the moment.

I like to second the opinion above that better on device word(s) search is sorely missed. Why spend the money and tie up the server when even my old Palm Treo can produce acceptable search results? Not sure how to say it with much more love.😊

I'll write up a case for the dev team to see if offline search can be improved.

That would be awesome.
